RE: Coastal at Liberty tonight
I wonder a little what the fascination is with attempting to guess, and diminish the Thursday night LU/Coastal attendance. Announced attendance was 18k. That was pretty close. Drive by guesses, and that's a new methodology to gauge attendance, did not see the filled aisle on the student side. Lots of kids in the aisle behind the student stands that drive by guesses would not see. Not near as crowded in the aisles on the home side. I'm guessing with the capacity at 19K+, the 18k is accurate. There were noticeable empty seats on the home upper side, but not a 1/3 empty and the unseen, aisle kids probably make the 18k legit. I did attend the game, sat, walked around the stadium, and watched on both sides (as I always do).

At the game, I took my headset and listened to the radio broadcast and heard York, the LU radio announcer say a sellout. What is your source, other than York, whose paid to pump and amp up the team for fans, as all team announcers are paid to do. Who else said a sellout?

Yes, men's basketball has begun, and LU can expect to be terrible, again.

And, oh...how is the JMU FBS quest coming along. oh..... and congrats on a 9-2 record.

Thanks for the congrats. It was a good year, but we're clearly not the same team sans Vad.

Your thoughts, comments and observations about FBS are best served by trying to get your own house in order rather than dishing LU. Zingers tossed as an aside only display petty and trivial opinions. Fortunately your posts are not like most other JMU posters who actually speak respectful of the program. With App St, GaSo, GaSt, Charlotte, ODU, and even Coastal beating JMU to the FBS, those comments display the frustration you're feeling. It's clear the baggage LU has and how it's effected it's FBS quest. I'll be happy to dialogue about this if you wish. But low blows and zingers only display frustration. I've been on this board enough to know many will agree that LU has baggage to overcome and JMU is it's own worst FBS wanna be enemy.

Dude, the only insecurity on display is you coming to our board to argue about your crowd.

My twenty-something "dude" friend, first the thread is entitled Coastal at Liberty so that's why I'm participating. One is best served by furthering their own cause for FBS without tossing salvos about others. Cutesy comments about other teams can be expected to receive rebuttal from their fans. So "dude", if you have read any of my posts here and on the LU board you would seen how I am a supporter of JMU and their quest for FBS and have had open dialogue and PM's with many of the JMU posters. That could be why there does not seem to be a rush of support to your comments.

So LH, if you don't agree with the statement about JMU creating it's own roadblocks to FBS, what is the reason JMU is not FBS now?

What is up with this mockery of the word "dude"?

Jesus, it's not insanity to address someone as dude on a message board. NewTimes isn't the first to do this, but I've never understood this bristling at "dude".

DUDE.

Whoa grasshopper. I do have a life, own a small business and have demands that don't allow me to be give undeterred, full attention, to things all inclusive to a sports bbs. No mockery of dude, just an acknowledgement of how it was used and a re-statement of the usage. Lighten up and be happy JMU is doing well in post season FB. It's a much better way to spend one's time and energy.

I must admit, the "uppity" comment caught me off guard and brought a major chuckle. That was a first. Hope you guys do well in the playoffs. And this seems like
a good ending to this thread.
