It seems like some of his shots were a little wild but with so few shots he would only need 1 or 2 for people to think of him as wild.

We're they really wild or did they just not go in?

Maybe they need to break out the FG shooting into further categories
BM (Barely missed)
MBAM (Missed by a mile)
RAO (Rimming and Out)
RAI (Rimming and In) - this one never happens
COR - Clanked on Rim
AN - All net but didn't go through the hoop
SBOSOR - Stuck ball on Side of Rim
STSCCMBIWBAWSFY - Shot that Stephen Curry can make but it would be a wild shot for you.

Tug, that you?

Don't think so..Tug never did more than one of those per post.

All hail the new Tugmaster! n/k...I'm gonna use those down the road..especially the shorter ones like BM and RAO.

RE: Iverson
His points per minute, rebounds per minute, assists per minute, blocks per minute are all worse this year compared to last. Plus his shooting % are down.

I think it's a stretch to compare KI as a Junior with anything KI did here. We really never got more than a glimpse of his skills due to other issues.

Pretty good for a guy who has played about 2 games at the DI level.

6-9, 220 - could've used him the other night.

You conveniently left out the 3 turns/game. I wonder if he still dribbles up to his chest and shoots 3's?

:edit: yep, still jacking 3's, hasn't hit one yet, but there is still hope.

Has KJ Lawson made a 3 yet?

Outside of Woodson (who's the only player who's made more than one three), the team as a whole is 3-33. (3-28 if you knock out the five misses by Craig Randall and Caleb Wallingford) and Burrell is our best shooter at 1-5 (the other two guys to make a shot are D. Lawson at 1-6 and Tarrant at 1-8). Of the remaining rotation players who have attempted a three, Crawford (0-4), K. Lawson (0-4), and Martin (0-2) have yet to make an attempt.

guess he should have stuck around.

Kinda what I was thinking , like a few others he wanted to be on the court all the time no matter how he performed .

Iverson needs someone to get in his face kick him in the ass and make him work...

He aint gonna do it on his own.

From what has been implied here, Aki tried and that is why both are no longer part of the program.

Fortunately, one or two of 'em can drive the ball. Otherwise that 4-out offense would be pretty hard on the eyes.

RE: Iverson
Pastner's problem early on was that he recruited based on Rivals rankings and not based on need / fit or ability to develop. I'd much rather have a guy like Trahson Burrell or Avery Woodson (lower ranking, smaller ego, higher effort).

HoopDreams- have followed you since I can remember starting to read this board.. You have been spot on with some inside info and provided great insight.

But I disagree with you here- STUFFING the stat sheet? Kuran is averaging 7.5 PPG and 4 rebounds for a RHODE ISLAND who has played American and Valpo. To put KI's name in the same sentence as Dedric Lawson is an abomination. DL is what we had hoped Kuran would be. His ball handling and patience, one cannot teach. Its November and DL is light years better than Kuran is now and ever was as a Tiger. DL just put up 22 points, 15 boards, 2 blocks, 3 steals (with 5 turns) against an OU team which returned 3 seniors and a junior who went to the Sweet 16 last year. Ryan Spangler is a solid senior forward who had a double double against us. He proved last year he was a force to be reckoned with averaging10 pts and 8 rebs for a top 16 team.

Tell me what I am missing here?

Here's something that might be relevant....Cal turned Iveson (33rd best player in the country) down, and suggested he go to us. Cal is pretty good at assessing how much work will go into a player for the yield. :)

Rhode Island's Kuran Iverson goes for a double-double -- 19 and 10 -- in the Rams' win on Wednesday over Holy Cross. Has to be consistent.
