We could care less what anyone outside the AAC thinks. We play the games, and at each game the best team (that day) wins. And what happens is what happens...

If you're really pulling for us, buy a ticket and fill the stadium.

Its funny, I'm not sure a 4 loss USF wouldn't STILL get the Access Bowl ahead of the other teams. It would mean they have a win over top 30 Temple, top 25 Houston/Navy, a P5 blowout win against Syracuse, etc.

I'm not claiming it's a slam dunk by any means, and USF would absolutely have a very convincing resume to work with (surviving the AAC in general and toppling some top and ranked teams in the process) but again it also boils down to W/Ls to compare. A 10-3 NIU (using them as an example because of faniliarity) would also have a case stating their close loss to top 4 tOSU by a touchdown and beating ranked Toledo, as well as possibly being ranked by season's end themselves (they've been receiving votes as well since the Toledo debacle). And the MAC has had an up year. All of this with a true freshman 4th string QB, not an easy feat. I think it would at least be a tough decision for the committee, but USF might have an edge. The one glaring difference would simply be the W/L number factoring in.

I agree completely.
A 4 loss USF would get in over just about every other 3 loss "G5" team out there based on resumes. I went and looked at the other teams schedules, and USF would have as good, if not better resume than all of them. Consider this. A 9-4 USF would have:
-Won 8 of 9 with only loss coming to a top 16 Navy in a close game.
-Defeated a #22 ranked Temple by 3 scores, who lost to ND by 4 points.
-Defeated a top 12 Houston/Navy in CG.
-3 of 4 losses would be to top 25 teams: Florida State, Navy, and Memphis
-Played a much tougher conference schedule
-A rout of 1 "P5" team Syracuse.
Who else has 2 top 25 wins in the G5? The only thing that might stop us is a bad loss to Maryland. If it weren't for that, we'd be a shoe in. Other than that, I still believe we'd get in over every other 3 loss team (IMO).

Well let's both win our conferences and see what the committee decides!

I agree. I don't think it would be a slam dunk either way.

If you really want to dream...
UConn can still win the AAC I believe in this scenario:
Temple loses to Memphis and UConn
UConn beats Memphis and Temple.
Cincy beats South Florida
UCF beats South Florida.
ECU beats Cincy.
UConn and Temple finished tied with 3 conference losses, UConn wins head to head.
UConn wins AAC title game.
No way in hell it happens.... weird that UConn and Cincy are alive still but Memphis is not.

Yeah, about that, Bowling Green blew out Maryland but then again doesn't have anything else close to a good win and lost every game to every good team they played. Northern Illinois has two bad losses.
Unless Toledo sneaks into the MACCG, it would be a very close call between USF and the MAC champion.

Central Michigan may be bowl eligible but they still are a very bad loss compared to the teams NIU is competing with.

I'm rooting for Iowa. That's about as close to rooting for a major underdog as you can do in a major conference. Iowa should not be competing for national titles in football given their recruiting grounds.

I'm pretty sure that feeling is just you. I'm willing to bet no P5 fans care about the P5 bid and I don't know why a Sunbelt, CUSA or MWC fan would care about the bid if its not their team.
So the thread should be titled NIU fans are hoping USF wins the AAC.

I am not sure I would call it a close game with Navy. SF lost 29-17. Without the opening KO run for a TD, SF only scored 10 points the rest of the game. The 1st down margin was 22-9 Navy and the yardage was 440-270 Navy. The winning points came in the middle of the 4th Qtr., but the score came at the end of a long drive. Navy had the ball almost all of the 4th Qtr.
