RE: Northern Illinois remains in control of the West: MAC Football 2015
At this point of the season I really do not think it is important to play BGSU again. NIU earned their spot in the MAC championship game by beating us. I believe BG will defeat NIU so we will have beaten the conference champ. Not the first time that has happened.
UT has earned a top end bowl bid. If you look at the teams BGSU, Arkansas and Arkansas State have defeated, we have the credentials for a top 25 ranking. Even Iowa State has played very tough against top rated teams. I would hate to see Hunt or Ely injured in Detroit and harm our opportunity to shine in a bowl game against a worthy opponent on a national stage.

Where is all this talk about a worthy opponent being put against us in a bowl game coming from? Many are still putting us back in mobile and the game in San Diego is against a mountain west team. What are the other possibilities at this point?

Even if we play Boise State, is it just name that we are excited for? Boise isn't even that good, and heaven forbid we go out there and get steamrolled like Utah State did to us, how embarrassing.
I want a MAC Championship. I dont want to look back as see this year the same year as 2001. A whole lot of wins but no hardware. Until the clock strikes zero on the NIU scoreboard, I there is still a chance, and Im still hoping.

I'd be happy with the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego against a Mountain West team! Better than the Camellia Bowl in Alabama or the Bahamas Bowl, both likely with C-USA or Sun belt opponents. Or, if we could get Temple or Memphis in Boca, that would be a good bowl game, too! If we beat WMU, a 10-1 record should help the MAC place us at either of those bowls, no?

Probably about economics and which bowls the schools can afford to lose money on. I'd like to see the team awarded with an opponent and place worth the work they put in. Regardless the loss to NIU, who played a play-off team tough. We are better than half of most any P5 conference and certainly not below half.

Look at the ESPN.com article on the G5 ny6 spot and tell me we lose to any of those teams on that list at first thought
