UNC fans- any concern about Fedora?
I saw the article on 247 that said he is a strong candidate for the VT job, which to me smells like the classic ''float the name out there for a raise'' tactic. Also could have been floated by VT to try and distract UNC. I don't think VT is that much of a step up(right now) to completely abandon this momentum and go to a school in the same division.

That said, other fan bases have said Fedora doesn't get along with the UNC admin, etc and would be open to leaving UNC, even that hes been trying to leave for a year or 2. I can't see any premier jobs opening up that he would be a top candidate for and can't see him leaving for a lateral move either. He just now has things rolling at UNC and I love seeing it. A strong UNC is good for the league and you guys play an exciting style.

No troll at all just wondering what you guys have heard regarding it? Also, what is the most active fan board for you all?

RE: UNC fans- any concern about Fedora?
Inside Carolina is the most active board & I personally don't feel Fedora will take a lateral move& he's not accomplished enough in my mind to get a higher profile job. The only potential friction I can think of with the administration is their refusal to admit a couple of athletes that met the NCAA requirements but not UNC's new guidelines imposed in the aftermath of the scandel. He could also be tired of the NCAA cloud either way he us likely to get paid this off season

I don't see him being at the top of VT wish list.

RE: UNC fans- any concern about Fedora?
As a biased observer I can see a couple of issues.

1. Fans were ready to run him out of town last year. I don't think he will forget that. Even if you see VT as a lateral move, it has some appeal.
2. He ignored the defense for 3 years. It wasn't until the house was burning down around him that he finally hired an OC and started getting players.

It's hard to say. At his Monday press conference, he was asked about his "plan" to get to this point since he had a very successful year 4 at Southern Miss. He said he was interested to see how years 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 turn out.

I do believe if Fedora left, it won't be to an ACC team.

It may interest him for sure but VT is a full rebuild. The one thing I think you can definitely say about Fedora is that he is a system based coach. His time at S.Miss & UNC show similar traits. He hasn't shown a willingness to alter his philosophy especially on offense. So your looking at yrs 4-5 before results are seen. Does the Hokie fan base want to watch another 3 or do years of 6-7 win teams?

No. Beamer will get credit for every win and Fedora will get blamed for every loss. There would be much whining about, "Should have hired Foster(?)." Lots of quotes about his record at UNC, etc.

BINGO. Let Fedora leave if he wants, but open the checkbook to keep Chizik.

Chizik is still cashing a $209,000 check from Auburn EVERY MONTH thru 2016. His decision will be based on "quality of life" (Chizik's term, not mine). And who in their right mind wouldn't want to live in Chapel Hill?

If Larry leaves it will be for a job in Texas or Oklahoma, not the mountains of Virginia.

Oh, trust me, I don't want Fedora at VT. There are better options - hopefully the Hokies get one of those.

Larry is the nut that called for an onside kick with the Heels up 24-0 against Miami on Saturday (It was not successful, but Miami didn't score....missed field goal).
He also confessed that he forgot what down it was on fourth and goal against Dook.

Take Larry......PLEASE!

p.s. leave Gene

IMO, Fuente of Memphis has more upside. Everyone's favorite - Herman of Houston - is promising. I like Patterson of TCU if he could be had. Rich Rod would be ok as long as he has a good DC (i.e. keep Foster). Plenty of guys are better options for VT than Fedora, IMO.

Fuente's team beat Ole Miss at their place.

Herman hasn't had time to do much yet at Houston, but he did coach the national championship offense last year...

Fedora in year 4 at Southern Miss won at UVA and beat #7 and undefeated Houston in Houston.

Meh. Who doesn't win at UVa (besides the home team)?
