RTB has yet to win a big game.

NIU doesn't tend to lose these types of games.

It's supposed to be very windy. Meaning, even more windy than usual in DeKalb. I think that will keep the score down some.

I am hoping for a Western win, but NIU has proven to me they know how to win these games. 27-14 NIU

Just like last year, WMU won't come through.

WMU is the better team this year, hope the better team does not win. We don't have our QB, Drew Hare, how can we expect my beloved to win?

At some point the luck is going to run out on NIU and I think this is the game. In addition, a seriously lack of fan support is not going to help the Huskies. I am predicting WMU by 10 points and only about 8,000 to 10,000 fans at the game which is really sad for the best team in the MAC five years running.

I predict NIU will win. Every year is the same story. Lose to NIU. root for NIU to lose. NIU doesnt lose.

Last year was the same thing. WMU had em dead to rights but then found a way to fail for us.

NIU is mentally tough, that will be enough. Like old school coach Carey, he gets mad, shows emotion. They will win in Dekalb by 10.

The only people that are loud at Huskie Stadium are the people that still show up for these types of late-season midweek games. All the other casual fans seem to sit on their hands anyway. So the actual home field advantage, such as it is, won't change much. Though it's still a bit depressing to have a small crowd for a game like this.

I was listening to a Chicago news station on the radio this morning, the sports segment talked about all the basketball games that happened yesterday, and mentioned a few more happening today, mentioned hockey also. No mention that NIU was playing.

I just can't listen to that ****hole station anymore.

Home field advantage has to factor in. The main thing, I think, is that Northern historically finds a way to win the big game. Western, as recognized by their own fans, does not. For these reasons I lean toward a NIU victory.

You may be right in regards to attendance. There is no argument that our attendance has suffered tremendously and the weather is going to stink tonight to begin with. I will predict around 11-12k though for attendance though.

And atleast NIU doesn't lie about attendance numbers like most MAC schools. We may as well though considering our stadium is usually more full than 2/3's of the stadiums in the conference yet we are always towards the bottom 1/3rd when the numbers are actually calculated.

I predict that ESPN will show the snake oil salesman's pregame speech and tell everyone what a great motivator he is. (he is their darling)

yet the Game was the sports over story in the Tribune this morning

NIU will win 42-21. Right now there are wind gusts in DeKalb of 40-50 mph (7 hours before kick-off). This will limit the passing attack. NIU running game and WMU are both good. However, NIU defense is giving up only 3.8 yards/attempt while WMU is giving up 5.1 yards per attempt. I think NIU will run it all night.

NIU wins.
