Boston College over (3) Georgetown 1-1, (5-4)
(6) Syracuse over (11) Seattle 3-1

(12) Creighton over (5) North Carolina 1-0
(4) Akron over SMU 2-1

(10) Maryland over (7) Notre Dame 1-0
(2) Clemson over (15) UC Santa Barbara 3-2 03-weeping

I predict that there will be at least one ACC team in the Final Four.

I hope Akron can knock the Big East out (given that 3 seed Georgetown has already been dropped) and move on to the Final Four. Since the Golden Flashes don't play men's soccer, I'm free to say "Go Zips!"

This is a toughie. Creighton is the only school left who doesn't have football, and they have come close on several occasions to winning a national championship. I'd like to see them eventually finish the deal and win one.

But Akron fans are awesome. I view them as a kindred spirit of ours. UCSB hosted the Final Four in 2010, the year Akron won it all. We adopted the Zips as the hometown team and the fans ran with it. They even hooked me up with a sweet T-shirt and adopted me and others as honorary Rowdies. I've kinda adopted the Zips as my second team since they won a national championship a few years back. Ya know, Fear the Roo! 04-cheers

If Creighton can win @Akron, they will play the College Cup close to home in Kansas City. Expect thousands of Creighton fans if that is the case.

That would be cool to see.

Anyone know if the #1 seed bracket plays the #4 in the semis? and #2 vs #3 in the other? This soccer thing is new to me.

But only one ACC team can knock out Stanford (note that since wedge lists Cal as the team he roots for, its just possible that he is rooting against The Cardinal).

I'll give you 500 to 1 odds that at least one ACC team will make it.

A clue...Dinosaur BBQ vs Chowder

Also, you are right...some reason I thought Wedge was Lance from UNC ;-)

Call me an optimist, but I'd like to think that Syracuse's culinary scene has more to offer than food poisoning wrapped around mediocre BBQ.

You are correct...Cuse is an awesome "Foodie" City...I also picked Dinosaur as that is the only nationally known Cuse Food establishment.

If Stanford loses, I can refer to the title game as a MACC game, which would mean a lot to me (I love terrible puns). So, if there are any nerds who play soccer at a tree-loving California college with an infatuation with the color red who are reading this message, do the right thing and let me have my fun.

UC Santa Barbara played three of this year's Final Four participants. Beat Stanford at home, lost to Akron at home and lost at Clemson.

Final Four results

(2) Clemson over (6) Syracuse 0-0 (4-1)
(8) Stanford over (4) Akron 0-0 (8-7)

National Championship on Sunday, December 13th. 2 pm eastern on ESPNU

(2) Clemson vs (8) Stanford

I really dislike having to go to penalty shots to decide a game. Akron lost a national championship that way. We lost a national championship that way. Anywho, congrats to today's winners.

Yeah, I'd much rather take two players off after the first OT, play for a while, take another two off, and so on until there's a score.
