First half observations
Quick moment here...

Shooting matters. Our kids basically getting what they need, but OU making 7 threes, and our kids going 10-17 free throws with a missed front end, and making only three threes kept it close.

Dedric can play, and is ready for this level in terms of talent...we will see if he has this level of legs.

KJ on occasion played like it is AAU or high school, when you are simply better than your opponents. However, this is his second game at this level, ever, so some of that is expected...he has all the makings of a player who sees the game slow down and will make good improvements.

Sometimes Shaq still plays casually, but often he is really good. Not going to change now that he is a Senior.

The rest simply looks like an early season game. For both teams.

Hield can play. And it is clear OU plays seniors. Their experience should make a difference in the second half. Game will likely be decided on whether our new kids play with college discipline. If they do...we can win. If they do not, it will be tough. Dedric is smooth, but also a high school senior body...may get very tired.

Good to see Tarrant come back strong late, after the two early fouls. There will be times when this team misses Kedren...as the newcomers like Martin mature. When will Kedren play, if at all?

Hoping for a good second half, but regardless, the half, and then Gramblkng and softer opponents will bode well for KJ, Martin, Marshall in acclimating.

The boys play hard and have some talent, I like their heart at this point.

I am enjoying watching them and I hope they can get some outside shots to fall.

Matador defense, good rebounding, no offensive sets other than drive, kick, shoot.

My first time to see this years team. I am encouraged. A fine effort against a really good team. We have all kinds of potential and lots of quality pieces. I'm happy for coach pastner. I still hope he can make this work.
