I was surprised Marshall passed Louisiana Tech this week in the computer polls. Their hypothetical matchup requires a Marshall win over WKU so I think it's safe to say MU would be higher ranked in that situation.

MU holds the tiebreaker over Southern Miss, and WKU would obviously host over either West team.

I hope it's in Huntington. I'm sure our team would love a re-match to avenge our earlier loss (and win CUSA of course).

It should be Tech/Marshall so we can avoid rematches. (of course it would be a rematch of last year's CCG though).

I dont think we have to worry about it being in Huntington. We are young and playing on the road. I truly don't expect us to come close to winning that game.

It would take a perfect storm, for sure. Like the one WKU brought to Huntington last year.

Marshall will easily beat WKU at 11:00 AM on Black Friday. Marshall's defense is too tough. The crowd will be minimal. It'll be cold and chance of rain, so we'll drop plenty of passes.

One of these days you are going to pick a Western win....

we both might be old ad walking with a walker. But one of these day 02-13-banana

I think the game will be a lot harder than some Marshall fans are letting on. I also think turnovers (hopefully lack of on Western's part) will decide the winner..

The only home field advantage for Western...

Marshall will not be playing at home. I believe they give up 70 or more yards and at least a td more playing on the road.

the key stat....

Western is 7-0 in 11am cst starts

RE: The championship game will be in Bowling Green or Huntington
I'd love to see the Herd win this football game. But, I'm not sure we are quite ready to win one like this yet.

And we are a much better team that home than we are on the road.. In our last 20 regular season home games, dating back to 2012, Marshall is 19-1 at Home (20-1 if you count CUSA title game). Obviously, you know who was responsible for that one loss.

So I'd really, really love to see us get some payback for that. I just don't see it happening.

Not necessarily, but probable Tech will jump ahead of Marshall this week if Tech wins. Hypothetical: Marshall barely escapes WKU with win and then Tech blows-out USM it might be close

Updated:

Tech = 341/768 = .4440 *128 = 56.83
Marshall= 334/768 = .4349 * 128 = 55.66

You are right, Marshall has struggled on the road. See Ohio and MTSU

That would be a lot work for a Wkucc grad but us Tech grads can calculate that in minutes 04-cheers
