Doesn't seem to be a case of him not being good enough to play. The injury really put him behind.

As always, mature comments from Lester. He has an important roll on this team, no doubt about it.

It just seems to me that some (several) on this board are so infatuated with the new guys, who we honestly have never seen play
and for the most part have no proven track record they are ready to
write Wilson off. But if I had to choose who do I want taking that needed, important 3 at the end of the game I am picking Wilson over everybody else on the team right now by a wide margin.

Lester was limping after the last game. I bet his ankle isn't quite ready.

After today's game I think it still stands that Wilson is still our most proven 3-point shooter. Only played 7 minutes today but made the most out of them.

Yep. 2 for 5 shooting and 1 rebound. Bucster's basketball wisdom continues to shine.

Well I was talking about his 3-point shooting. 2-3 on 3's in 7 minutes. Pretty good if you ask me...just taking up for my man Wilson. To be playing with an injury the guy can still shoot the 3 when we need it. You are the one saying we shouldn't be negative towards the guys on here and here you are being negative. Nice going!

Don't get me wrong. LOVE they guy. And I like the love that the fans give Lester. He has heart. And the 2 threes were sweet.

I just think that after this morning's performance, perhaps the love could be spread.

Bennie off the bench to grab 10 points and 7 boards in limited minutes...
The team weathering the CRAPPY calls...
Ge-Lawn staying POISED...
Ike killing it underneath...

Holy smokes, what a morning!

Dude I know the whole team played great! I just wanted to give Wilson some love that's all! He is out there playing injured and as I recall that first 3 he hit came at a time when we needed it.

I still love Wilson too, not just as a great player, but a fantastic overall teammate, student and young man. I don't think the fans will forget about him, even with some great new guys around. Lester is just one of those guys that's memorable, even if he doesn't play as much this year. I think he still gives a spark to the team. Perhaps it just more in a supportive and leadership role while he gets back up to full form, but it's still a good thing.

RE: Wilson
Lester has been a one dimensional player in the past--- a three point specialist. Never a good defender or rebounder, but to be fair he often got the "Tommy Hubbard" draw of guys six inches taller than him.

He lived in Bartow's dog house because of Murry's quick hook and impatience. Murry's personal and coaching style made too much emphasis on mistakes which magnified them. Shooter misses two three attempts and he's either benched or given a collar. MB made head cases out of great shooters like Micah Williams and Kenyona Swader in similar ways. Hard to get into a rhythm.

I believe Lester will have an important role to play with this team. We're gonna play 10-12 guys so he has a better chance to exploit his strength. A high scoring team is more forgiving of misses and can cover up Lester's weaknesses.

He's shown real maturity in his public comments and demeanor so far.

Sometimes it's about when you make those 3 pointers and not just how many.

I find it comical that today's commentators still had the freshman year bio for Lester that stated he is an efficient scorer especially from inside 10ft. His scoring has pretty much been exclusively from outside of 10ft for 3 years now.

Heard that as well. Did they not notice the number of 3 pointers he has made over his career.

Yeah, I thought it was funny. Especially since he's hit so many three's throughout his career.

I Thought those 3 pointers by Lester gave the team a big lift at a time when we needed it.. I wonder if Coach Forbes told him to go in and shoot the 3 when he put him in the game???

I was real happy for Lester this morning.. I know he has been through a lot.. but he keeps going when others would have given up!!!

Lester is a fan favorite for sure. I love the applause he gets when he comes in the game. Lester and Deuce are my favorites on this squad. But how can you not love Ike's improvement? He's gone from being tentative to being a confident player. Maybe some of that has to do with him being able to play his natural position.

Everyone yelling Deuce, when he scores, is pretty funny.

RE: Wilson
If Lester truly accepts his role - that being a microwave shooter in short stretches - he can be a valuable part of this team's success. Despite his knocking down some shots so far though he still hasn't played a lick of defense. And that will continue to limit his role. Not real fond of his demeanor so far either. Hopefully he will fully buy in as this develops.
