How will our guards stack up
against Ga State and ULL? That could be the key to finishing above those two teams. When I say guards, I include our wing players like Mareik and Jalen, players who usually set up on the perimeter facing the basket. If those two, plus Josh, Jermaine, Kemy and others can hang with those teams, we will have a pretty good chance to win the whole shooting match. I think our inside players will be the best we've had, depth wise, with Lis, Roger, Daniel, and Marius. I'm optimistic enough to think we'll prove the so called experts wrong as to where they picked us to finish.

RE: How will our guards stack up
Good question, Doc. I think that by this time in his career, Josh stacks up against most of the good guards in the Belt. Until we get a little better look at the new guys and the returning redshirts, that would be hard to answer. What makes Georgia State so intimidating is that their two guards just took over games and took the lion's share of the shots. They were very hard to defend. They didn't always make shots, but it was hard to keep them from getting shots. At this point in time, the focus in Lafayette is in the middle, so their guards are playing a slightly different role than they have in the past. They probably have an NBA-type talent there. The guards will have to complement the big guy.
Johnson, Hagins, Osse, Ruttley, Isom (when he gets back), Stetson, Jackson. We have depth on the perimeter, but your best guards are going to have to be out there 30 minutes a game for you to have a chance. Hagins will be one of them. Not sure how the other minutes will fall out.
