4-12 Oakland
1-3 Oakland (fired)
7-6 UTK (quit after 1 season)
8-5 USC
10-2 USC
7-6 USC
3-2 USC (fired)

Pro career: 5-15
College career: 35-21

Pay special note to that college career. He is a marginal winner at very traditional schools with huge budgets.

Also note that his teams get progressively worse the longer he stays.

Finally note that his BEST departure was when he left UTK in the middle of the night after only one year - and the place rioted. His other two were ugly firings. Kiffin wears out his welcome quickly.

So become infatuated if you want. I'd rather stick to the plan that led us to McElwain and Fuente - successful up and coming OC/QB coaches looking for their first shot.

I don't get the feeling anyone here really likes him all that much.

He's a ho-hummer hire. 03-yawn

They may not like him, but his advocates are here. Go back through the thread.

Ya can't always tell by reading what they say who they advocate. Some of them like to see who you advocate more than tell you who they advocate.

They are tricksy fellers. lol

I thought the OP said he was the definite hire. If so, then our opinion is not relevant.

True for some. Others are not as tricksy as they think.

we could not do any better. a young guy that is driven, is a football genius, and he knows he has to win big and do it quickly in order to move on to another gig.

Plus he has ties to a potential "coach in waiting" for when he takes that next gig.

I'd take them both in a heartbeat

Plus Kiffin would bring his wife...

Would some of the main boosters run interference like they did for Tommy?
