Number of Possible Undefeated Teams at the End of the Regular Season:
4
- Clemson, Houston, Oklahoma State, Ohio State/Iowa

Week 11 Thoughts:
-A two loss in team in the Cotton/Orange Bowl?: With the national championship, we typically think of a 2nd loss as completely eliminating a team. In the BCS era, we only had one year where we had a 2 loss team make the championship game and that was in crazy 2007 where every possible upset that seemed it could happen, did happen. We are now talking about 4 teams instead of 2 though and that will mean more years with a 2 loss team in. We aren’t to the point it’s most likely yet, but if we play through things, there isn’t a whole lot left that needs to happen to get us one.
-The SEC is down to 2 one loss teams. If either of them lose before then and win the SEC Championship Game or if both lose, the SEC’s only competitors will be 2 loss teams.
-The PAC-12 lost its last single loss teams this week with Utah and Stanford loosing.
-The Big Ten still is sitting with Ohio State and Iowa, but the east is far from decided and if a 2 loss Michigan beats even a previous undefeated Iowa, Michigan would probably beat out Iowa for the spot.
-The Big 12 still has 3 1-loss teams and 1 undefeated ones, but they still have a lot of games vs. each other left.

-Group of 5 spot: In just 2 weeks, Memphis has gone from on top of the list for the G5 automatic spot to out of it as they are now out of contention for the American Championship Game. Meanwhile a small hole has opened up for a few outside the conference. South Florida beating Temple, gives the Owls their 2nd loss and also leaves South Florida in the race. Temple and South Florida both have at least a game left they will be in for a real fight with (at least on paper). You will have at least 2 a loss team from the east entering the American championship and might well have a 3 loss team. If they win the game, the door might open for a team from another conference. That said, the teams that might compete for that spot continues decline and my money would probably still be on the American champ. Boise State is out of it after a 3rd loss. Toledo might still be in it with 1 loss, but would probably have to beat Bowling Green twice to do it.

Week 12 Thoughts:
-In the Big 12, we have a monster day. We have 1-loss Baylor playing at undefeated Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State is the last of the undefeated teams in conference. We also have 1-loss TCU at 1-loss Oklahoma. A 2nd loss for anyone in the Big 12 likely eliminates them from the conference championship race.

-In the Big Ten this week we have undefeated Ohio State hosting 1-loss Michigan State. The winner will be the only one controlling their destiny going into the final week of the season for the Big Ten race.

-On the winless side, winless Central Florida hosts East Carolina as 15 point underdog and winless Kansas hosts West Virginia as a 28 point underdog.
