They went zone and slowed us down.

I'm talking about on the defensive rebounding. We got a little sloppy and let them grab a ton of offensive boards in the second half. The defense was great other than that.

Half court offense, even when USM played man, was not good. That's just something we'll have to live with under Pastner.

I agree. Rebounding will be the key. Smiley needs to stay outta foul trouble and be mindful

I think we have a chance to win. Even if we don't win the game, this team by the end of the year should be pretty good. Lots of talent and length on the court

Maybe some day. For now, CJP has his chance to show guys like me that I am dead wrong, that he is not only equipped to coach basketball but to win big games against top flight teams. I hope he does just this, beats Oklahoma and shuts me up.

But the truth is, he doesn't even have to do that. If our young team plays great and loses by 1 in a long second shot, that will show tremendous progress. If he pulls all the right strings and the shots just don't go in, that's not his fault. So we will see. At the end of the day nothing we say here matters, what matters is what happens on the court.

Oklahoma will be a very tough game. They are loaded, and Lon Kruger is just a great coach. Good luck Tigers.

We lost to KU by 1 possession in CJP's first year. Kansas was loaded and Self is a great coach...

Just keep it close. Play hard and hope for a few breaks. This fan base knows good basketball, regardless of the final score. We'll notice progress.

DONT GET BLOWN OUT!

RE: On to Oklahoma
Based on recent early-season games against ranked competition, I will be happy just to see our team not be embarrassed, especially at home. Other games like this have seen us fall behind 30 or 35 points.

We'll see. I will make the effort to be there.

We'll have the length to bother them on the defensive end. Neither is a great shooting team, so it's going to be a low scoring affair. We'll keep it close.

It is certainly a cliché but it's going to come down to making some shots particularly from outside.

My cliche is the 'defense'. Will we ever play team D under JP?

He never seems to emphasize it

Or even fundamentally sound D. We should have a lot more steals with Damon back.
