RE: Do the protesters have a point?
Heck, they can't even determine if the press is free.

RE: Do the protesters have a point?
Here's the official statement on the Missouri site:
http://missouri.edu/statements/statement...eports.php
False Social Media Posts Regarding Attacks in Paris
Nov. 14, 2015
Social media posts expressing dismay that the tragedy in Paris is diverting media attention from events at the University of Missouri are being made by individuals from outside the Mizzou community in an attempt to create conflict. Our hearts go out to the citizens of Paris and all those affected by the tragic events of last night. While our community has faced difficulties over the past week, we express our sincere sympathy to those who have been affected by the events in Paris and remain committed to making Mizzou stronger and more inclusive.
So Missouri's journalism capabilities take another hit. Nowhere in their statement do they call the tweets fake, even though their own headline calls them false. They are not false. They said they are being made by people outside of the Mizzou community. What does that mean? Are students at Missouri, who say stupid sh*t, no longer part of the Mizzou community? Thats what it sounds like you are saying.
Notice how they didnt say the tweets werent made by students of missouri, but that they werent a part of the mizzou community.
Chickens are home to roost Missouri. Look at what your liberal professors have created.

RE: Do the protesters have a point?
Headline says they are false while the official statement says they are real. Makes sense.

Well, this is now the second most ridiculous response to the Paris attacks (the first being to blame the victims for not being armed)

RE: Do the protesters have a point?
I have no idea if the Missouri protests were major enough for the attention they got in the beginning, but neither do any of you. It could've been as minor as an annoyance or a response to a real cultural problem at the university that hadn't been addressed.
Now, whether or not the few that have posted have a reason to be angry at their news story being overshadowed: No. It's important to be self-aware enough to know your place in the happenings of the world. Passionate people--from sports fans to activists--aren't usually self-aware.
