RE: 11,786
"Season-ticket sales have dipped from their typical 85- to 90-percent renewal rates to 75 percent this year, deputy athletic director Mark Alnutt said — a drop-off the athletic department is combating with five- and seven-game ticket packages and increased marketing that will intensify next week around the Tigers' nationally televised home game Tuesday against No. 8 Oklahoma on ESPN."
"Yes, we took a hit last year with season tickets, just with people's thoughts on the program and the stuff that happened this summer," said Alnutt, who declined to provide a number of season tickets sold for this season. "At the end of the day, winning is going to take care of everything and people are going to get back on board."

Talked to a couple of professors sitting in the lower level and found out that University employees can receive discounted season tickets if lower level season tix are not sold two weeks before the season. A lot of them either moved down or grabbed season tickets this year due to non-renewals.

They won. Decisively. I'm happy.
I wonder how this attendance compares to other season-openers - including cupcakes..?

In past years, the cupcake opener was announced around 16,500. With actual being around 13,500-14,000. This year, announced of 11,786. With an actual of no more than 6,000
