To no one's suprise the teams who are really struggling are seeing their attendance numbers go down and down.

RE: Average home attendance thru Week 11
I can't help but wonder how much better App State's attendance could have been this year. Consider:

- The Homecoming game against Wyoming was during some of the worst rain western North Carolina has seen in years. In the past, Homecoming has drawn over 30,000 against competition as un-compelling as Elon. This year had barely over 18,000. It was bizarre.

- Our two biggest opponents fell on Thursday nights, just two weeks apart. How many grown adults with real jobs and real families and don't live within 2 hours of Boone are going to be aable to make that? Amazing we had as many as we did.

-We have another home game two days after Thanksgiving. I'm sure students will drive all the way back to Boone for that.

-Yet another problem was that we had a home game sandwiched between Georgia Southern and Arkansas State. Typically it isn't easy for fans to make it to Boone three weekends in a row if they live a ways away.

This year could have broken some records, I think, if the schedule had been set up differently and that rain hadn't happened. Oh well. I just hope that if we have two Thursday games next year, one is on the road so that we can have five Saturday home games.

If I could just get 1 change in the schedule I would like to see us not play at home the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We have last year and will this year again.

Also having 2 mid-week HOME games in a season doesn't help. We had 2 Thursday HOME games last year and I suspect with App and Louisiana at home next year for us we will see 2 Thursday HOME games again.

RE: Average home attendance thru Week 11
Unfortunately our league sees the most compelling games that should bring the best attendance are excellent time to put that game during the week so it becomes a national game on an ESPN TV channel. Problem is, it hurts attendance for whoever host it. That's the problem with our TV contract.

My biggest change would be to find a way to always schedule a non conference road game on the weekend of thUGA-Florida. Our fans just love watching mediocre football in Florida.

APP will get to add a Tuesday game or two next year, I bet!

I agree playing more than one mid-week home game is too much. A-State had the following run, which wasn't bad because two of them were on TV on the road:

TUE Away USA
TUE Home UL-L
SAT Home GSU
THU Away APP

I fear the two mid-week home games next season for stAte.

I hope they spread the mid week games out more next year. With Troy, USA, and an improving GA St. team they should spread the love between seven teams. With App's schedule next year we might have GA St. for a Thursday game at home and probably GS away on Tuesday and ULL away on Thursday.

RE: Average home attendance thru Week 11
Have there been Belt teams in the past who have played both a Tuesday & Thursday game in the same season ?

Would think that would be a scheduling mess unless it coincided with some open weeks.

Also curious if someone has crunched any numbers to see what both teams records are the Saturday following Tuesday games, assuming they play a game.

Not upset about Troy averaging 19,000 for the season considering the record of the past few seasons.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

Yup.

We should be well into the 20k range once we start having 8 and 9 win seasons again.

With only a Thursday night game left, TXST will have their lowest season average by a long shot since moving up. Please let this help get Teis fired.

2011 - 15106
2012 - 18945
2013 - 18062
2014 - 20598

I disagree but it will be a regression. I think it will fall between the 2012/13 numbers but only because of the USM game. 2012 is inflated because of TTech and we only went 4-8. Without better results it will continue to drop back down. I don't think even the UH game next year will help unless we get changes made.

An even worse scenario is having to fight Black Friday traffic to attend an early afternoon game hosting Navy like we did last year. And the administration wondered why we only drew 17,000+ for such a marquee game.

2011 wasn't a full FBS season. USM and PV had strong crowds this year and show how fast fans run off when the team is awful.

I always assume UH would be an easy sellout, now I'm not s sure.
