Texas State faithful demand action be taken
The social media is blowing up with #fireteis and #firefran hashtags, plus Franchione is already blocking people on his Twitter Account. This is starting to get interesting.

Maybe the SBC can catch up with the SEC with 2 openings.

. .. . All well and good . . . Let folks get their vent on . . . But in the end, that's all it will be. . .. And Franny will be back next year . . . . and nothing will have changed.

Such is the lot of Bobcat Athletics . . . .

It's hard for me to see a scenario where Fran gets canned. Not renewing the contract, yes, but not firing.

Therein lies the dilemma. He had a 5 year contract through 2015 but in 2012 Teis extended it through 2017.

In the post game presser he said he wasn't worried about his job. Not a good indicator that anything will happen. Teis has a habit of letting things hit rock bottom before he even attempts a move. That's what happened with both of the basketball programs.

Are you suggesting we (FB) haven't hit bottom yet?

. . . And if that's the case, I shudder to think about how much worse it can/could get

Hw many years did he let Davalos stay when we hit that point? Now, I think it will continue to spiral even further. I see Larry letting us have an equally bad season before he thinks about letting his boy go.

I hope I'm wrong.

Wait for the attendance, bobcat club, and season ticket numbers to start dropping. That one couple tried to inspire more donations with their 1million handout but it's not going to save the jobs of the incompetent. Thursday attendance is going to be great.

The thing that it seems to me is that it's not what he has done this year, but what he did for the program decades ago. Sentiment should have no spot in the kind of things, but seems to be big here to me.

I hear you, I would only say that basketball is NOT the BIG MONEY sport that Football is . . . . So with that in mind, I'm hoping we can't afford a repeat of the Davalos fiasco . . . But it's Larry, and his only friend Franny, so who knows . .

I keep hearing people say that we need the Big Money Donors to make their dissatisfaction known . . . . But I'm not so sure.. ..

Now I'll readily admit, I don't know how many Big Money donors we have, nor do I know their collective worth . . .. But I suspect that we have far more "Smaller" donors, and I suspect that collectively their worth may be as much as our Big Donors, maybe more . . .

I really think that this needs to be a revolution from the bottom . . . . And as much as it pains me to say it . . . I think that we need to collectively stop our Bobcat Club Donations . . Don't renew our Season Tickets for Football . . . Basically Boycott the program . . . When they find themselves playing in an empty stadium . . . With gate receipts down, parking receipts down, concessions receipts down, and a huge drop in season ticket sales, well then they may actually listen to us. . . . .

Until then, they really don't have a reason to . . . .

. . . just my .02 cents . . .

Remember when Fran was a good coach and held some of the biggest jobs in the country???

What happened to that Fran???

Although when he left Alabama the way he did, I wished him nothing but failure the rest of his career.(It was before South started football)

He got fat, old, and inflexible . .. He lost touch, couldn't keep up with, much less change with, the times . . . The game has passed him by . . .

. . . Everyone seems to know it, except him and our AD . .

Coach Fran is gone. At this point, Larry Teis has to have a sacrifice to survive. That still might not be enough, but even if Teis got fired, Fran would still be gone. The next person that takes that job will not want Coach Fran.

Teis has not had a winning season in men's basketball since 2003. He has to hope that Danny Kaspar can turn that around. He doesn't need another albatross around his neck. He has no choice but to get rid of Fran. It is easy. Coach Fran did not meet expectations.

Fortunately, a buyout is 20% of the remaining 2 years plus a percentage of the rest of this fiscal year so, about 288K

March 2004

He didn't get us to FBS. The ASG forced his hand.
