RE: Texas State faithful demand action be taken
I don't trust "big money donors"
That's the sort of folks that got SMU the death penalty and had Auburn's accreditation put on probation.
Those are the folks who were charmed by Dickey Nutt and bought his spin that he was essential to AState. They convinced the administration that the outcry against Nutt was just a few cranks on the internet.
The administration gave Nutt three more years and AState hoops after being in top third of the nation in men's basketball attendance for 17 of the past 18 years saw attendance plummet and hasn't been worth a crap the ten years since the extension.
My dad gave it one more season and gave up his season tickets after 20 years and he was in the first group to join the booster club when it was founded at AState, but no where close to being a big money guy.

Teis has a habit of letting things hit rock bottom before he even attempts a move. That's what happened with both of the basketball programs.
We stAte basketball fans can relate. We have an AD that doesn't even know we have a men's basketball program.

No, actually you guys can't relate. We have not had a winning season in men's basketball since the 2002-2003 season. Larry Teis has been Athletic Director since 2004. We have had four winning seasons since 2004 in football. Despite our size and our resources, the school has become comfortable with mediocrity in athletics. It has been that way for a long time.

It's not like Texas State has ever really been a power in anything. Didn't y'all honor the 2005 team this past weekend? That team lost in the semifinals, and that's worth a 10 year reunion?
Yikes.

I think Teis will still have a job thanks to the guy that gave a million dollars last week. Fran won't be fired but will resign/retire after this season. He doesn't need the money and knows this was supposed to be the payoff year we were all promised and told to be patient for. If one person was to be let go I want it to be Teis. He is worthless and dragging the school down. His only success is because students forced his hand and even a clock is right twice a day.

Volleyball I guess. Baseball and softball were good for years but have declined sharply under him as well.

Yes, they deserved it. They were the best team we've had, with the best record since going DI. It reignited a fan base and spurred the move to FBS so, yeah, they earned it.

I'm referring to the basketball program only. It's an afterthought.

I disagree. Baseball was good 08-12. We went to Regionals twice in that time. After we lost the core of that team and Matlock left is when they started a stagnant slide. 11 of those players are on pro rosters right now (some in majors, some in minors)
Softball won the SLC 08,09,10,12 and back to back SLC tourneys in that same time frame going to Regionals in 09, 11, 12. They had that incident in 2014 that devastated the softball program but they bounced back some last year.
We got into a tougher baseball/softball conference. Gonna take time to get the better players and our mojo back. Teis hasn't messed with these programs and he had just better not.
These have two of the coaches Teis hasn't messed with.

Terry knows we have hoops, he's a Kansas kid. He also knows we would have dropped a half million or so getting rid of Brady and not come close to making enough in ticket sales and donations to make it back.

That's a fair assessment. He didn't hire those coaches and they were successful.
