OT - Bourbon Bar
So a little off topic for our Football run to the playoffs this year, but let's say one was to put together a BOURBON Tailgate bar for next Seasons Run. Since this is JMU, what would be your favorite Bourbon to be included. Realizing "Pappy" may be a little unattainable.

PAPPY......we're all well enough off to make that happen, right?

I have loved Elijah Craig since introduced a few years ago.

Basil Hayden's. By no means the authority, but I can see the good people of Kentucky from my house. BH is legit, otherworldly, life altering, and quite simply amaze balls. Enjoy responsibly, gentlemen.

Good for you. That's definitely on my list of things I need to do. Although not next weekend. :-)

I still find myself coming back to the Bulleit 10 if I'm just having 1 (or two). But I haven't seen anything mentioned that isn't tasty.

We did Woodford, Wild Turkey, and Evan last year...so good. The wife didn't like bourbon before then, now it's one of her drinks of choice. For the value, we usually do 1783.

Does this mean you won't be at the Villanova game???

Standard in the cabinet is always Basil. Then I rotate through. One now is Calmut, and it is decent. If you want to keep it local try Reservoir from Richmond.

Second Reservoir, really good! Bowman Brothers from Fredericksburg is my go to these days.

I have had all of these, and I probably would have said Basil Haydens or Bookers up until a few weeks ago when I tried Blanton’s single barrel. I would have to go with that as my 1 seed right now.

These are all very fine, sipping bourbons. However, for watching a game or tailgating, I really just like some Buffalo Trace with a couple cubes of ice

They'll be stepping off you and onto me. A fine bourbon is nice, but at a football game where it flows for three or four hours leading up to the game and spillage begins to take hold, Evan Williams or even Mr. Beam will do just fine.

More along the EW line (which seems fitting), always been a big fan of Four Roses.

Tailgate choice is usually Eagle Rare. No more than one cube if ice. Anything more than that is pointless.

RE: OT - Bourbon Bar
Suprised it took this far in for ER to pop up on the list (props to hanky). The right barrel and it rivals anything under $90 a bottle. So-so barrel is still worth the coin.

Evan black is my go to everyday bourbon. Everything else already mentioned makes its way through the cabinet at one time or another but I've been high on Bullit lately; their rye is also nice.
