Radford plays VCU tonight. Should be a good gauge for both teams.

The CAA has two top 5 RPI teams after game 1 according to ESPN- W&M 4 and JMU 5. Let's keep the RPI sky high with a win tonight.

Yep, their move was so irrelevant that I forgot they're not A10 anymore but rather in the far crappier CUSA.

VCU beats Radford 92-74 with the largest lead at 27 for the Rams. Hard to tell how good Radford is or how unprepared Georgetown was. They're really experienced with 7 seniors but other than that, tough to really draw much from their first 2 games.

I watched a few minutes late in the first half of the Radford/VCU game and from what i could tell, Radford looked pretty athletic. They also looked pretty small. If Curry pushes the tempo we should be able to get some open looks.

Caa went 2-0 on Tuesday and 1-1 today. Drexel lost to high point. That can't be good for our conference's rpi.
15-5 ooc record for the CAA through Wednesday.

Drexel announced today that Major Canady will be out again this season with another injury. The school can't catch a break.

High Point is a good team if they're anything like last year's version. Towson got beat pretty, pretty good yesterday. Former CAA member Mason won its first game of the season, knocking off Ole Miss. Mason has something like 4 freshman in its rotation, so Paulsen's coaching seems to be taking hold. And those freshman were not largely recruited.

Hofstra plays Florida State on CBSSN now. The CAA is 16-6 in OOC play so far this season.

Looks like Hofstra is going to hold on. Also Mason beat OSU today which helps their RPI and in turn JMU's opportunity for a decent OOC win later in the OOC. I can root for every CAA team but have trouble rooting for Towson- they seem to get way too much credit for way too little success as a program. They lost handily back to back days vs. Ole Miss and OSU (same tourney as GMU). BTW they are already announcing fields for next years early season tournies no sign of JMU. What does it take to get into one of those fields- seems like a good venue to pick up quality wins on a neutral floor. Is it a monetary thing? I remember years ago JMU went to San Juan with not even a good team and got a couple of wins in a tourney- can't remember the last legit early season tourney they participated in.

RE: CAA MBB OOC
Paulsen is already looking like a very good coach with wins over Ole Miss and Oklahoma State after a disappointing start to the season. Hoops preview by USA Today said he'd get them back to the NCAAs in short order. Amazing turnaround for them in the early season. That's shaping up to be a very tough match-up for JMU, who didn't look particularly good today.

Towson does not appear to be very good in the early going.

RE: CAA MBB OOC
Hope the crowd is better on Saturday. That may have something to do with it- probably a difference over playing at Richmond and at WVU then at home to FIU. Suffice to say JMU needs to play better or they won't win tomorrow. Curry, Serb, Vodo, Brown, Grays, and Dalembert appear to be the most reliable Dukes so far. Kent, McLean, and hopefully Morgan need to get going. Not sure with Dalembert back and Vodo and Serb playing well that they will need to rely on Satkius much moving forward.

Mason losing to Mercer and Colgate but defeating Ok State and Ole Miss is baffling. Good for them though. Wins over those programs will improve our RPI when we beat them 02-13-banana

Yep Florida Atlantic vs. Northeastern is going on now (neutral court) and Delaware plays at Iona tonight.

Northeastern in danger of delivering CAA's first "bad" loss to FAU who lost to a non D1 team their last game out. Come on Huskies don't ruin a good thing! Delaware can afford to lose to Iona on the road but Northeastern is talented enough where they should beat FAU on a neutral floor.
