can you repost the thread up the Rocket Exhaust thread where flaming is expected? I have to imagine it was pretty good if they were getting that upset. This is what rivalries are about - fun stuff and I would imagine the separated at birth is just about fun stuff. I don't care so much for the trash talking from fans about past records - that means nothing in the upcoming game - are really nothing after the upcoming game. It is just history and something we are proud of accomplishing to win 5 straight. Make it six years straight, NIU did it to us and we just did it to CMU. I think BG had 10 straight on us back in the 50's to start of 60's. Let's get to 10!!

As a public service/education message to the younger members of the forum, I will point out that when referring to "The Sixties" in a cultural framework, one is actually referring to the period from roughly 1966-1974, give or take a year. On the other hand the early 1960s are more properly considered as part of "The Fifties" in the cultural framework of things although some may consider them as a transitional period between the "Fifties" and the "Sixties".
So this commercial, that came out in 1971, is considered to be an example of the "Sixties" culture, although today we would more likely consider it a caricature rather than an example.

I've come to realize that many of the BGSU posters on AZZ are largely hypocrites, dish it out on "their" site, then can't take things posted here on the Launchpad. I do go over to badger them on AZZ fully expecting to bear the brunt of their rebuttals, it is always good for a laugh or two at my own expense.
Here on out I'll just focus my future efforts on the NIU Huskies who crave having Toledo as a rivalry and aren't a bunch of thin-skinned *******. I've tailgated with enough of them over the years to know that.

My point is if you're getting offended by what people are saying in an online forum, then why are you here? You have the freedom to not come onto our site and get offended. I find it weird this thread got deleted. I remember the Arkansas faithful doing a 'Toledo Separated at Birth' and it had over 100+ posts...I thought it was clever, I didn't get offended, and they got to have some fun. But for some reason, this site doesn't allow that?!

Neither I nor any of the other few BG posters here, that I’m aware of, were personally offended by the separated thread.
I realize that this is where the majority of the message board activity takes place for UT, but this isn’t YOUR site. It belongs to someone else who maintains the site for many universities…and they have instituted a set of rules to play by. One such rule is that you respect student athletes and not personally attack them. Posts with pictures of student athletes comparing them to mops, etc. is toeing that line IMO. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you also have another site that is owned by Toledo people or UT itself? And do any BG people post there? I’m guessing no.
Azz.com of course is not a part of this board…it’s a privately owned board and the owner can use whatever rules he so chooses. That being said, I don’t remember any posts there ever that posted pictures of student athletes from other schools for any reason, and definitely not for any humorous reason.
Yes, I PM’d RangerRocket about the original thread, but I only suggested that he may be toeing the line of the AUP, since he is a moderator here. I never demanded or requested that he take it down. His response, I believe, was to then include me in the thread and call me a troll…so I then decided to also make the site owner aware of my feelings that this may be toeing that line. Again, I never demanded or requested at all for the thread to be taken down or sanitized. To my knowledge, that was RangerRocket’s decision all on his own.
I full well realize that Ranger and all you guys are just having fun with the rivalry and I get all that…I just would like it to be at the expense of me and other BG fans and not of BG’s players and their appearance.
