This is just bizarre. Do they not have a parking lot in which a TV truck could be parked? Do they not get satellite uplink coverage in Auburn, Alabama?

One of their video guys was the videographer for my wedding. I sent him an e-mail last week asking what was up and he said the issue was that the SEC network was scheduled to use their main control room, and the football guys were that would normally be using it were scheduled to use the basketball control room to get video and graphics ready for the 11:00am football game Saturday. He said that if the football game wasnt so early it wouldnt have been an issue.

Agreed better than nothing but certainly you would think think a university like Auburn would have the resources to do better than this.

I certainly hope we can do better than this next year with respect to TV coverage.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you...

So what if Pearl didn't want the game to be on TV so that the arena would be packed out. And IF UAB wins, then less people would see his team be defeated by little ole UAB.

How many games at Bartow are going to be on TV--Fox Sports 1 in at least one case--and we don't have any control rooms or digital media facilities.

It's a basketball game in November in SEC football country. If it was anybody but Bruce Pearl, they might not have even broadcast it on radio.

That's ridiculous. Pearl, the ultimate showman is selling his program and always wants his team seen. I suspect it's because of him that we have this much.

Yeah, it was too much of a sell to get ESPN to bump the Washington v Texas A&M Women's Soccer game to move that crew to Auburn.

I could have broadcast that. I now have my own TV truck.

Can't believe that the SEC hasn't run into this scenario before or is it that Auburn didn't set something up correctly to allow this whereas other SEC programs have?

This is a big game for basketball in this state. Can't remember an opening day with more in-state "hype" than this in some time. Regardless of the situation with tickets and the situation with TV, this game happening is a win for UAB and for basketball in this state.
