I'd be surprised by that. I only know of one offer east of Louisiana and that isn't him. Maybe he had a Mike White offer. White recruited Florida. Konkol has been recruiting Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas.

From WKU's Scout website:
he 6-foot-1, 175-pound Howard has an offer from the Hilltoppers and will make an official visit on Oct. 16. He was on campus last month with his family and is being recruited by assistant coach Chris Shumate.
"We enjoyed the unofficial, so we are coming back for an official," his father, Tobias Sr., said. "He looks like he would be a good fit for the style they play. Just knowing the winning atmosphere there and the style of play was very intriguing." Howard also has offers from Mississippi, Loyola, Ill., East Tennssee State and Louisiana Tech. Several other schools have been involved but the father said those are the schools that have been "showing the most" interest."
Previously a member of the Class of 2015, Howard is originally from Suwanee, Ga., and last season played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He now attends West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla., and was one of the top scorers for the Jerry Stackhouse Elite AAU programs.
"He can make shots and run the team," the father said. "He's going to bring a toughness and leadership. He's a scoring point guard."

It's not on Rivals or Vebalcommits...and the name has never been mentioned on our recruiting site. White may have recruited him. But I'm pretty sure this staff hasn't.
Deon Barrett 5'10 guard, Averaged 15.8 pts, 6.8 assist, 3 rebounds and 2 steals as a junior for the 5A Texas State Champions. He was an all state selection last season. "Deon is a really quick and shifty point guard,” Floyd said. “He can really shoot the ball from the perimeter and has a great feel for running a team and getting his teammates easy baskets. We really like the fact that he has won at a high level, as he captured a 5A state championship in Texas last season. According to Verbal Commits he had interest from the following schools: Houston, Ole Miss., Creighton, Texas Tech, La Tech, Oklahoma and others.
Here is some video on Barrett
Tim Cameron 6'4" guard. Averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4.5 assist last season. The 6-4, 180-pound Cameron was a member of the 2013 state championship team, 2014 state Final Four team and 2015 state Elite Eight team at Norcross High School. He is a 3* rated player according to Rivals. Verbal Commits has him listed as having offers from the following schools: Tennessee, La. Tech, Middle Tennessee, WKU, Rice, Houston and Ole Miss.

Quote:Ako Adams, a 6-2 guard, led Bishop O’Connell to a 20-11 overall record. He averaged 17.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists, while making 66 three-pointers. As a sophomore, he helped his team to the 2013 WCAC Championship, as well as the Alhambra Championship, where he was named second team All-Tournament. He is the eighth ranked player in the state of Virginia by MaxPreps. A three-star athlete by ESPN and Rivals, Adams was named first team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention, while also being named team Most Valuable Player.
I was upset we couldn't land Ako. He goes to my old high school and I would have loved to see a Knight play for the Monarchs. I'll be looking forward to seeing him play for you guys for the next few years!

Thanks! As excited as we are about this year, next year should be even better. Hopefully we'll be able to compete with the top teams in the conference next year.

This class is a monster for ODU. There will be 7 new faces next year, but 3 of them get to practice and spend time with the team which could help.
Kah- stretch 4 type that they've been after forever
Evans- point guard that fell into our lap somehow. Was number 5 ranked player in Oklahoma and previously committed to Ok State.
Green- 6-6 wing player. Interest, but no offers from power 5. High upside development player
Haynes- 6-4 wing player. Probably plays right away.
BJ Smith - 6-5 guard. Former top 100 players transferred from UVA
Trey Porter 6-10 transfer from George Mason.
Austin Colbert- 6-9 transfer from Illinois. Another top 100 player
The good thing about the big rangier players is they are talented, but need to put on some muscle. Our strength program is top notch and you see noticeable differences every year.
Big commitment for Tech today. 3* PG Daquan Bracey from St. Frances Academy in the Baltimore area. He has offers from Georgetown, Marquette, Kansas State, UMass, Dayton and Towson.

The only thing I can think of is our coaching staff has ties to the area. Konkol was an assistant at George Mason. Tony Skinn played at George Mason and was AD at a high school in DC.
I think Southern Miss is recruiting me. I shot the ball around a bit at the Keesler AFB gym the other day. Had I had someone guarding me, they probably would've offered. I'm very skilled at layups with no one guarding me, though.
