RE: Positive and Negative: UC Football Season
Positives: Win over Miami on national television in front of a packed house and with a backup quarterback, Moore breaking Greg Cooks passing record, playing in Nippert again.
Negatives: Turnovers and losing at least 3 games we should have won.

RE: Positive and Negative: UC Football Season
Positives: Agree with win over Miami even if they are not a strong team, back at Nippert, beginning to see potential with the defense
Negatives:
Kickoff and punt returns are not good
on-side kick awareness problems whether kicking or receiving aka poor special teams coaching
another poor start to the season with the Temple loss
no defense against Memphis and bad defense against Temple
a veteran QB that puts up some gaudy numbers but still makes stupid mistakes and decisions way too often
losing 3 games they could have won
most likely in a crappy bowl game - but the odds for that are good even with a good season with the AAC bowl tie-ins

even with nippert, I really don't notice a big difference. you can put lipstick on a pig, and its still a pig. the concourse above the bowl is still a cluster - everyone seems to just hang out back there - still as hard to move around as before. the ushers don't seem to do anything to keep it moving. the portable, single wide porta a porty truck, in TUC's loading dock area, is a joke. maybe it'll be a double wide next year! as far as making it "better" for the average fan, I just don't see it. although, honestly, we all know it was more about getting the suites / money seats out there.
Never heard anyone compare Nippert to a pig before. Charming, historic, intimate setting are words I would use. Of course I have been to stadiums around the country, so this is a matter of perspective.
Press box/suites look fantastic. Stadium feels even more big time than before. Concourse, on the east side, is much more manageable to navigate. Love the bridge/catwalk on the east side, especially since we have upper deck seats. Saw banners up describing traditions and great moments of the program. This is a nice touch. The top level east side concessions and beer garden area have been nice. Glad they have the Shoemaker restrooms open. Even more happy the fans are unaware, so I can get right in and right out without lines. I am looking forward to the new scoreboard and sound system next year. Most important is the revenue garnered from the new luxury seats and ads on the ribbon boards.

No one mentioned LB Eric Wilson as a positive. He leads the team in tackles through 9 games with 81. Forgot he transferred from Northwestern. He has quicks and plays bigger than 219 pounds. Looking forward to having him for his Senior season.

RE: Positive and Negative: UC Football Season
Positives:
1. Offense:
5th in total offense at 578.2 ypg
5th in Team Passing Yardage at 387.6 ypg
16th in scoring average at 37.6 ppg
17th in 3rd down conversion percentage at .46
43rd in rushing yardage at 190.7 ypg
2. Entire defense returns with the exception of a few players. This year's team started 5 freshmen
Negatives
1. Turnovers
2. Lose entire WR receiving corps (there are some good unproven backups)
3. Red Zone offense and efficiency (without the turnovers and field goals the scoring average (16th) would be much higher).

One positive I failed to mention: we've got a great bunch of young men. Tubs & Co. run a clean program and I really appreciate that. Bearcats Sports Weekly ran a piece on Prunty and he is such a great guy. You can see why he's such a great recruiter and why he's helping to make such great men.

Definitely deserves mentioning.

Agree on Coach Prunty. I shot him an email at his UC athletic office during his first season after I read an article on his beliefs and coaching philosophy. It impressed me and I let him know that. He returned my email and was very appreciative, humble and down to earth. We discovered that I live near where he grew up or formerly resided (sorry, my memory fails me) in Southern Virginia.
