If this is a game of inches.....a new bar would be set with ND making the playoffs.

10 P5 teams played a year.

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

Big12 and ND fighting against Conference Championship model of playoffs. They both claim competition level in scheduling. ND, as an independent playing 10 P5 teams, getting in over a "proclaimed" conference champion with perhaps only 9 P5 teams on schedule would move the bar.......at least an inch.

RE: CFB Playoff Rankings, Week 2
Much fear in The Big 12, as there should be, that Notre Dame will take their spot. Personally I am OK with that. If being left out motivates The Big 12 to expand, and allow deserving programs like Memphis, Cincinnati and Houston into the P5 club, I don't see it as anything but a good thing for college football.

As for Notre Dame getting in without being in a conference, good for them. Notre Dame getting in should never keep The ACC out. Why? Because The ACC gets 5 or 6 opportunities a season to beat The Irish. If our champ cant beat The Irish, we don't deserve to be in the CFP.

ND only has 9 P5 programs on its roster. Navy, Temple and UMass are G5, no matter what conferences say in regards to OOC scheduling.

If true, that would REALLY suck for the Big12. As a conference, you would be arguing against Navy.

Two of those (Navy, Temple) are ranked. ND plays no FCS teams, either, unlike the Big 12 schools.
