Like he said scuttle your program for two years. Money given to us or not. We have also had to pay several millions. That said it is pretty clear where the directive came from and it was not from UAB. It was from boosters of the money bell cow of the NCAA. Take it up with the NCAA.

Scuttle your program and you can gain the same advantages all though I see no advantage to losing a program for two years, devastating families and kid's lives, and taking millions from our pockets. We are simply being allowed to get our numbers back the quickest way possible.

Have fun with your football team the rest of this year and next. we don't have one. Have fun taking your kids and grandkids to games. I won't. I have no program that is ours to take them to. We have been to hell in back. No not the way Marshall has but in our own way. I don't recommend it for anyone. I would have much rather kept our program and had all these players we lost playing for us this season getting ready for a bowl instead of going around town soliciting donations so we can build basic facilities and completely funding our football program from everything from air travel to jock straps. Name another program that is 100% funded by donations from it's fan base. We are not allowed to use one dime of University money for Football. All on us.

Don't come to us with scuttle your program for two years...ours was scuttled for three year, only not in the way yours was.. By the way, we got no help to bring ours back. We get no help from the university with an exception of a student athletic fee. we had a stupid president also, that hired a loser as a coach that took a team from 12-2 to 0-12. Then 1-11, then 3-9. Most of us would rather been in your shoes than suffer thru that. Both of our situations were caused by stupidity of our administrations.

You didn't shut down your program. The UA Trustees ass raped ours. There is NO comparison in then two. Again. Shut your program down for two years and you can recruit like us. That said it's not that big of an advantage. In fact we are at a disadvantage and it's up to our coaches to overcome it. Stop whining and come back to me after you shut your program down and I will listen. BTW we suffered through the loser coaches so you get ZERO sympathy from me.

That said I really don't wish this on anyone. It's not fun and it has cost us millions including a nice chunk of money out of my own pocket.

It is a BIG advantage. Nothing we can do about it though. I wish you well in the future. You are looking at it thru green shades.

A couple years of losing isn't any where near equivalent to a program receiving the death penalty and not being able to pull any revenue for 2 years + starting back with a thrown together roster who hasn't played a game together in any capacity. If it is, then UAB had been on a near 10 year death penalty prior to this. Get a grip.

Going 1-23 in a 2 year span and losing most of those games by getting absolutely throttled because D1 talent was nearly nonexistent......the "means" of program destruction may have been different, but the "end" was similar.

UAB is only allowed to sign 15 players for his year. If we had been allowed to sign 25 in December for our 2015 class I'd agree with you.

That's not true. The players signed are not charged a year of eligibility, it is like a red shirt year. They can work on their grades, rehab any injuries, and the like. There will be spring training next season with the guys we have now plus the next round of signees.

Players that don't qualify are not going to be recruited by this staff anyway. This group needs to be talented and high character guys who the coaches are confident will play. We can't afford misses in this group.

If we want to put this on level footing then it would be about like S. Miss getting the same type of recruiting advantage for basketball. Not one fan. Not one player currently playing for S. Miss, Not one person currently connected to S. Miss has anything to do with their former scumbag coach.


Yet not only will they get punished...it'll take them years to get all the scholarships taken from them back.

Personally I don't give a damn but for UAB fans to say "shut your program down" and UAB wasn't at fault....YOUR PRESIDENT did that and with that it was UAB. At least S. Miss is no longer in bed with their scumbag..there's no change at UAB
