Ely started hot but made some bad passes later in the game. He missed a few that had he hit the game isn't close. A pretty loud Toledo fan kept shouting "run the ball" for pretty much he 3rd Q. I'm pretty sure we can't win any possible tiebreakers if there are a bunch of 2 loss teams in the west. I'm pulling for Toledo, someone other than NIU needs to win one of these years.
I wonder who that was
Was that you? During the last drive said fan was yelling something at the press box. Thought it was trash talking until I looked over and realized he was yelling "Don't throw the ball!" towards UT's OC.
I was the one yelling Run The Ball. UTCharger73 was the one pleading with Jason Candle Toledo's OC to not throw the ball.

They were one of the top scoring offenses entering MAC play. At least his statement was legitimately a possibility. EMU has 260 points scored this year.
Broncos historically have problems with the MAC's upper crust. We kind of have a ceiling on how high we can go in the conference. That said, we'll very likely lose our final two games and end 6-6.
We haven't beaten NIU or Toledo in ages, and we certainly aren't getting that monkey off our back on the road.

WMU? With a win at home tonight, they are the favorites. Correct?
On paper, yes, WMU is the favorite because they currently have no conference losses.
HOWEVER, does anyone, including WMU fans, think that they can go through their last 3 games (BG, @NIU, @Toledo) 2-1? That's a lot to ask, especially when the last 2 are on the road.
No, the Falcons were favored by about a field goal.

agreed eCK; BG looks like the best team in the MAC right now...I predict a NIU/BG championship game providing there are no significant injuries to either team
my early thought for Nick's Picks next week is BG 63 - Toledo 42; I just can't see the Rockets stopping the Falcon offense at this point in time and I don't see Ball State putting up much of a fight against BG either the following week

I would guess BG would win but I don't see them putting up 63 points against Toledo. Probably 40+. Toledo has a better defense than WMU, I believe.
As the games get more difficult to pick as the season ends, my 4-2 record this week wasn't bad, but I can promise you I am a BG believer now and will be picking them going forward. Currently I stand at 70-22 (76%)
Nick's Pick: Kent St 20 - Ohio 16
Actual Score: Ohio 27 - Kent State 0
I had previously stated "this is more of a gut feeling than a lock," clearly this was a putrid pick.
Nick's Pick: Toledo 30 - Central 24
Actual Score: Toledo 28 - Central 23
Nailed it.
Nick's Pick: NIU 28 - Buffalo 20
Actual Score: NIU 41 - Buffalo 30
Higher scoring game than I expected, an NIU win as I predicted.
Nick's Pick: Western 41 - BG 38
Actual Score: BG 41 - Western 27
Was it only me or did it seem like the Falcons could break out and score at almost any possession they wanted? Somehow it seemed like BG won by more than two touchdowns as I watched this game as Western never seemed to mount any sort of comeback in the second half.
Nick's Pick: Akron 21 - Miami 14
Actual Score: Akron 37 - Miami 28
Like the NIU prediction, right team just more offense than predicted.
Nick's Pick: UMass 45 - Eastern 28
Actual Score: UMass 28 - Eastern 17
Lower scoring than expected...I think Eastern has packed it in...

Yes, I do.
We take it one game at a time. I am not being arrogant and saying that we are going to win them all, just that we are taking it one game at a time with the mind set that we will play hard and smart to win each day that we play.
Who is "we"? Are you Fleck!? Or maybe one of the players!?
You will find out who we are next week.
We sure did.
A .500 team that will likely finish 4th in the division.
