A couple of interesting points:
UC faces VaTech in Round 1... Obviously an interesting thing given our former AD.

If UC wins in Round 1, they will face the winner of Ohio State/Butler. Which would be a compelling regional game no matter how you cut it.

Four AAC teams are in the field: USF faces Florida Gulf Coast (which is located about 60 miles south of Tampa in Fort Myers), UConn faces Sienna, UCF faces William and Mary, and UC. Three of the four are in different quadrants which means that three could get to the "final four"/semifinals of the tournament...though UConn would have to go through defending National Champions UVA to do that. (Potentially USF and UCF would meet in their quad...) UC's quad has Penn State seeded #1.

It is also a little...aggravating...that the other 3 AAC teams all HOST their 1st round games. UC will be on the road for the entire tournament.

We were the lowest seed of the 4 in our own conference tournament. Not really surprising that we are not hosting. UConn and USF especially deserved to be host teams with their whole body of work.

Doesn't matter where we play. It's a great accomplishment for these young women to reach the tournament and get the experience that will serve the program well going into next season. Home field is not necessarily that big of a deal in soccer anyway.
