To be completely honest, I would be thrilled if the football program ended up at 4-8 in Creighton's second season.

That's the point. We're not close to that level.

This is the only reasonable perspective on the football program right now. Optimism is nothing more than "magical thinking" -- there is nothing in reality to remotely suggest that improvement is possible, let alone likely.

That said, I think it may be easier for Jeremy to disconnect from the football program than it is for some of us. I think he went to Mizzou. If I had gone to Mizzou, I sure as hell wouldn't follow EMU.

I don't think Mizzou is at the top of the positive publicity right now.

While I like Eagle Totem unbiased journalism it isn't. Most of the writers have a lets rid of football and an agenda. I wish they spend more time questioning why students are absent at winning programs like men's hoops and don't support their fellow students who play football.

I don't see the football program being discontinued or lowered to a FBS level no matter how many posters here rant and rave or how many articles Eagle Totem writes.

So having pointed out those realities, Chris Creighton is the current coach, lets hope he succeeds where others have failed. You can either support him in doing that or continue to stomp your feet, throw tantrums about the status of the football program. Even better pull out your checkbook and donate some $$$ to the program or just purchase a ticket and attend a game.
