I'm not saying I'd root against Towson if they were playing ISIS but that's only because ISIS doesn't have a football team. Not only is Towson generally terrible but they also employ Satan Incarnate as their head coach. Rob Ambrose is truly the human hemorrhoid on the sphincter of a program that is Towson football. I hope we beat them so bad that Ambrose cries and cries and then I'll catch his tears in a jar and baptize my future kids with them. I HATE TOWSON! KILL THE KITTIES!
WOW! That a lot of hate, but in the case of Ambrose--completely justified. Living in Central Va. during the Rocco years at Liberty, I would say that it would be a photo finish between he and Ambrose for the biggest, most arrogant(you choose) in the CAA. Let's give the prize to Ambrose this week--it will just give us something to look forward to next week!

So we have a big game this Saturday and the team can't be caught looking ahead to Richmond. We'll need a much better defensive effort than we showed in the Elon second half and the same goes for the offense...in the second half last Saturday we had no running game.
This is a huge game Saturday; I hope our supporters and students show up for this one.
Would be terrible to have a half empty Zable.
Absolutelyou agree! We had the second lowest rushing yardage total of all the teams that Elon has played this season. Only SBU had fewer yards.
Still managed to get over 4 yards/carry. It's not like they were struggling to run entirely.

RE: Towson
Our O-line and D-line is always where our success starts. Offensively I think part of our O-line success stems from our balance this season. Balance between the run and pass, balance between KA & MAS, balance within the Wr's (targeting 5-6 each game). If we keep a balanced attack in all of our remaining games we can win out. Balanced, timely plays will put up 30 to 40 points against each of our up coming opponents. That will be hard to overcome for Towson

Elon and Hampton both loaded up on the run. In Hampton's case, it took a few drives before we threw them out of it, in Elon's case they weren't good enough to stop us even with that. The passing game this year has given us the counterpunch to teams that stuff the box. I'll take any of our receivers in single coverage, and I think Cluley will, too.

Agree. Our play action passes to Caskin over the middle and Dedmon in the flat give our opponent's DC reason to back out of the box.

Going into this year after McBride, Ballard & Revel graduated and with Dedmon banged up, there was some apprehension about the receiving corps. Kudos to our guys who have stepped up en masse. Here's hoping that injuries heal and our guys get to finish the season strong.
GO TRIBE!

The great thing that we see here is the people who are stepping up are as good as the people they replace, just less experienced (which is important but no loss of talent :>)

What I've loved this year is that Cluley has been deadly accurate on his short passes. Which really allows up to control TOP even when we're not running

I gather that Velasquez got hurt during the JMU game? For the life of me I do not remember it.

RE: Towson
Yep, he came out in the 1st quarter. He had an ice wrap around his left leg, just below the knee. Based on the way he was behaving and walking afterward, I would have guessed it was a lower leg bruise, unrelated to a joint. He didn't seem to have any trouble walking around, and he stayed in uniform (minus helmet) for the rest of the game. I'm surprised he's out for 2 weeks (and maybe more), but I haven't heard any official word on his status.

I just looked at the line and we're 14 point favorites. I'd love for the outcome to be in that range

I'm coaching first grade basketball and will miss most of the live Tribeathletics TV broadcast. Does anyone know how quickly the archived version of the broadcast appears on the Tribeathletics website. Trying to decide wether to watch the 4th quarter live or wait to watch the whole archived version from the start.

I didn't know we archived the broadcast. Where do you find the library? * don't say Swem

RE: Towson
I agree with everyone that Dedmon needs as many touches during a game as possible. If you watch the last couple of games, when #11 moves the defense moves with him. The jet sweep, even in routes he pulls an additional defender. Couldn't we play off of that a little bit from time to time. Dedmon attracts so much attention, couldn't we try him taking the jet sweep then pitching to Armstrong on the reverse? Even once in while use Dedmon as a decoy to free up another receiver. I am not saying this should be the game plan every play, but by using Dedmon as a decoy would actually keep the defense honest, eventually creating more opportunity for Dedmon. They are keying on him and he is still having success, but think how much more success he would have, and others would subsequently have if we did.
