Houston, you are our only hope!!
They will need some help along the way, but win out and, and they will have three more wins against probable ranked opponents.......if this happens, they will have a good argument the be included included in the National Championship 4 team bracket.

(remaining games)
Memphis
UConn
Navy
Temple in Championship

Go Houston!

Go Houston!

Right now, Houston has played the #118 schedule in the country, one of the very worst. And if the AAC has four ranked teams this week, chances are all will be in the 20s, hanging by a thread.

And how many of those remaining teams will be ranked after Houston beats them?

It is sheer loony-tunes to think that the CFP is going to put a Houston team that will have beaten nothing but other AAC into the national Final 4. Cra-Cra.

^^^^^^ This

Undefeated UH has no chance to be in the final four, unfortunately.

That's a very high and reasonable expectation. The only hope right now is for UH to rep the AAC in a New Year's Day bowl game. There were Peach Bowl reps at the Cincy game yesterday. BUT, the Coogs have got to win out; otherwise our rep could very well be Temple or Navy.

I don't think an undefeated Houston has the schedule that would put them in a four team playoff.
With that said, they stand on top right now for the Peach Bowl in the Big six bowl

If I was Houston (or any other AAC champ that gets the Access slot), I'd be hoping for the Fiesta Bowl. Even though the Peach is now officially a "major" bowl, I don't think that idea has really sunk in with the general public yet. The Fiesta is an established, big-time bowl, there's more prestige in going there.

Not sure if that is possible this year with all the tie-in complexities, but if so that's what I'd want.

A lot easier for the fans to attend Peach Bowl and probably vs an eastern team. The Fiesta would be probably vs a PAC or Big12 school

Houston wont make the playoff and theres a chance not even a major bowl. They still have to take on Memphis and Navy. I can see many scenarios where we destroy our own chances of the access bowl.

I actually like Memphis over Houston in their game.... and Navy is gonna be a real problem. If Houston loses both, then Navy wins the division and will more than likely take on Temple for the championship.

Memphis was our hope for causing upheaval for the College Football Playoffs. Houston's SOS is too low.

There is a double standard and we all know it for the AAC . If Houston was to win out against 3 other top 25 teams in our conference it's looked as not a being a big deal (since they are not P5, but disregarding the fact they're top 25 teams) by the PO Committee. Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

RE: Houston, you are our only hope!!
Going into this season the goal was always for Houston to use this season to set up Next Season. Finish strong, capture a New Years Bowl, get experience against a really good P5 program, learn from that experience and build for next season.

Herman is bringing in a monster recruiting class next year, including the #4 recruit on ESPN's top 300....and the prospects for more top recruits are only helped by our momentum

Enter next season as a top 25 team, beat Oklahoma in our opening game and we should warrant a top 15 ranking and should be in the conversation for a playoff spot from the beginning If we finish the season strong. A really impressive win over OU should put Ward in the early Heisman discussion.

Of course, the Big 12 can finally make their expansion invitation in the off season which would throw everything for a curve..... and I see those 2 spots going to 1 of these 3 combinations (Cincinnati + Houston) (Memphis + Cincinnati) (Houston + BYU)

It works in Houston's favor that Oklahoma is backing Houston and has scheduled their opening game vs the Cougars. The State of Texas factor could really work for UH or really against UH...no one knows what the politicians are doing behind the scenes.

Let's see how many 2-loss teams the committee ranks ahead of Houston out of:

Florida St
Michigan
Wisconsin
UCLA
Miss St
Northwestern

I'm guessing most of them. Each one ranked above Houston is a slap in the face and a message that they will take a 2-loss P5 team over an undefeated G5 team.
