More like a shame he had a terrible work ethic. He never rehabbed his leg and didn't work hard at practice. There was a reason that, even when healthy, he didn't get to play much.

I think it was all mental after the leg break. I think he had a good mindset when it came to rehab ethic...but I think in the back of his mind he was always scared of it breaking again...and that show when he favored it when running full speed, especially that long catch and run vs. Kansas back in '09 when he got caught from behind. Which brings me to another point...I think they rushed him back in '09. He should've taken the year off medically and worked on the mental aspect of it.

Rice hasn't lost consecutive home games since 2012
Rice hasn't lost to USM since 2011
Rice hasn't lost a home game in November since 2007
Rice hasn't lost on Homecoming since 2004

Owls win.

All I'm saying is I'm friends with players who were on the team with him. Horrible work ethic. Didn't rehab his leg at all.

Agreed stinkfist and we can look at ourselves. I've stated these numbers before and I'll state them again:

prior to 2012 USM had 18 straight winning seasons
prior to 2012 USM had never lost more than 8 games in a season..ever
prior to 2013 USM hadn't had back to back losing seasons since 1933-34

So trends/streaks will end eventually and no better time for Rice than this Saturday.

That's the thing. He was 6'6" 230 lbs with a metal rod in his leg, and he was still the most talented player on the field whenever he was on the field.

I think a lot of the players resented DB being on the team, for a multitude of reasons. He wasn't a "hard" practice player, things came natural to him, he had a mouth on him, etc.

The guy played pretty much 2 seasons at USM and was still one of the top 5 WRs in USM history, statistically. Pretty crazy.

Getting nervous over this game tomorrow. Sure is a good feeling being nervous because so much is on the line with each game left this season.

Meh, it's ok - nothing's on the line for y'all. This is just a practice for you guys.
You can still win out AFTER this week and the title's still yours :)
I know last week was your off week but feel free to take one more week off before your homestretch run.

The one game I am looking forward to this weekend. Rice will need to play a great game just to keep it close. A couple of USM turnovers and Rice could get a huge win. A Rice loss and I don't think they make it to 6 wins. Big game today and as a Tech fan, I can't wait!

massive game for the west division! I will cheer for USM this game to set up the potential battle of 2 8-3 teams by the end of the month.
Win or lose, USM will still control your CCG race after today.

I love how our local fox station is carrying this game.....however, there is a bit of a disconnect with the audio slightly ahead of the video

ASN's sound is off. Pretty frustrating knowing the result of the play before it even starts.
