Exclamation I'm not angry. Have some thoughts about the game and life in general.
I was relieved in a sense that the game ended. However, I didn't actually see it happen. My wife recorded the game on DVR but on set to to record for 4 hours. It cut off right after our first play from O in the 3rd OT. I got on my phone finally after avoiding it all afternoon and saw the final score. Wasn't surprised as we looked like poo all game minus a few solid plays here and there. Overall I guess I'm just annoyed with that whole mess I sat through. Im not pissy like some people I've talked too more just glad it's over.

1. Congratulations to MTSU. While I don't give a shi about "rivalries with the newer teams (yet), I will say with the multiple losses as well as the NIT loss a few years ago that if a rivalry has to come I guess this is a start. I mean no offense either, I'm just bitter that we've lost all of our "CUSA" rivals to other conferences and the West division.

2. Damn can you imagine that poor kicker. Most of us have played sports and probably done something bonehead and screwed up. However not only did that happen but then he gets benched and has to watch the nonsense take place on top of dealing with what happened prior. I hope he sleeps it off tonight as tomorrow is a new day.

3. MTSU... What's up with the fans in the stadium or lack thereof?

4. I still think we can win out all the way through a bowl game. We just have to score more points than the other team we play.

5. My 20 year high school reuion is tonight. 10 years ago we blew a home game vs. K-State. I hope the next one we have a bye week.

6. Counting is fun.

7. Overall this was a very bad loss for CUSA. I'm sure MTSU disagrees but the way that WKU vs MU and LT & USM could have that final week prior to the CUSA championship would really be great storylines and pub for the conf. It can still play out but every loss ruins things as they usually do. TCU knows all about that.

8. I love watching football on TV but was disappointed by Fox Sports tonight. Usually they do a better job. Maybe the game had me cranky so I was nit picking things to wear off some pissy aggression. I don't know the game broadcast just seemed minimal camera angles and the announcers had MTSU boners.

9. I'm so sick of our ALL our RBs being injured. It's nauseating.

10. Good luck to all the rest of the year. I hope all your dreams come true. I'm very annoyed right now as my idiot dog just knocked over the trash can in the kitchen. Time to go clean up his mess and stare at him with evil eyes.

Boo hoo. A conference game is not a bad loss for the conference. And don't be all sour grapes that you are stuck with the new teams until you start dominating us.

That was your takeaway from his post? You guys really reach for the bad in everything we say. An observation that a showdown would have been cooler isn't whining. And until you've had the majority of a conference leave you behind, don't act like you know what it's like. There's an adjustment and we don't have to like the new neighbors till we're ready to like the new neighbors. Beating them or not has nothing to do with it.

RE: I'm not angry. Have some thoughts about the game and life in general.
Your Herdzone writer termed that game "the Agony of The Feet" - great description of the game from the Herd POV.

As to attendance or lack there of. Imagine ten years of mediocre, mystifying play calling, finding ways to lose and your AD extending the head coach's contract to sometime near the middle of the next decade...

I saw long time fans (talking 4 decades plus) leaving last night at end of regulation, after seeing a fourth quarter ten point lead evaporate (not the first time this season for that) and not blaming them...

Wow that puts things into perspective. I wonder how many of them were kicking themselves for missing that ending. On the winning side that would be a crazy fun thing to see with all the ups and downs and twist and turns.

that's beyond bizarre....I understand it has to be extremely frustrating as a fan, but to leave at that point??? ....that's just strange....if one is going to do that, then why even go to game?

I will admit, stock sr has a few screws that need to be reattached.....but that scenario is just strange to me...

Well as you can see most people are doing that....not going at all that is.

Perhaps you haven't seen it in other threads but the number of people who have given up on this program because of the coaching staff is astounding. We've lost so many fourth quarter leads up by 10 to 14 at home that those who left last night figured we had choked another away. When you've seen it so many times and you are still willing to be there only to see it happening again it's not something - for some at least - can bear to watch.

if you have sigs set to 'on' you should know that bag made one appearance during the uab game in '12........hell, I had kids in my section wanting me to sign autographs....I shite you not...I didn't go to the last home game.....I couldn't take it anymore.

my out of town crew still hasn't recovered in body at games b/c of that season.....it sucks balls....

I was shocked to see the stands as I watched the game yesterday.....was not close to what you guys represented back in '09 in nola....

southern miss fans can sympathize.....we understand that pain....

now that his son is showing flashes of brilliance, I guess I can only say you guys better hope he plays like he did yesterday as time moves forward.....we also had a nepotism issue at qb in '12.....what a fk'n nightmare

I know this, he looked like a 4/5 year qb yesterday.....enjoy the win....it was a good one

RE: I'm not angry. Have some thoughts about the game and life in general.
FWIW, looking at the replay from behind it appeared as though the kickers FG would have been good off the foot. Cutrer just made an athletic play to block it. Just goes to show what idiot comments our head coach makes sometimes. Cutrer was originally a four-star LSU commit, but our head coach thinks that character wins games not talent. He really said that. Even though Cutrer is the one who made that bone headed late hit at the end of regulation he atoned for it in a big way. If he doesn't find his way to the Boro perhaps we don't win that game. But character wins games. Just keep that in mind. Our coach said so.

FWIW, Litton -IMO- is a better passer and way ahead of Cato at the same points in their career. He's going to be a beast for you guys. He'll have to work on consistently being accurate but wow that kid threw some amazing balls down the field last night. Perfectly placed.

For those that were at the game last night you can see the difference in what Litton brings to the table vs Stockstill. Litton has a big-time NFL caliber arm. He was consistently throwing laser darts 12-15 yards from the opposite hash all the way across the field to the sidelines on those simple hitch routes. Stockstill throws a very catchable but soft ball. He doesn't have near the arm strength of Litton and that was obvious if you were sitting in the stands last night.

I only get to fly down for about two games a year, and I've made the Marshall game both times including two years ago. So, I think I'm going to have to make this one of my annual games to come down to every year and perhaps make the Huntington trip too. This is going to be an epic matchup for the next four years watching Litton and Stockstill go head-to-head three more times (hopefully they will both stay healthy).

And also another FWIW...we had Paxton Lynch from Memphis in the Boro his freshman year. Those two are very similar in my opinion. Litton is about 10 times better at this point as freshman than Lynch was and look how good Lynch is now. Marshall you guys are going to be in good hands with this kid. Perhaps no so fortunate for the rest of us.

Combined line for two freshman QB's
55/90 699 yards 6TDs

not many positives I can conjure up from that....

While the Litton has a great arm, I don't think there is that much difference from decision time to the ball hitting the WRs hands. Stock has the quickest release I have seen of all the QBs we faced this year. I think Marshall O-line protected much better than our line did - Thus Litton had more time to complete those long outs. Regardless, both are good QBs. Litton had 59-60 passing attempts last night compared to Stocks 35-36 attempts - yardage was about equal.

I also think Marshall has some really good WRs, #3 was killing us all night.

That's why I think Litton is going to keep getting better and the ceiling his higher for him. Stockstill won't get appreciably better IMO. He already has the mental ability of a seasoned veteran. As Litton closes the gap on the decision making he's going to be an outstanding QB with his physical ability.

really? stock has a delivery that you cannot teach....couple that with his knowledge....well, lets just say daddy needs to shut-up and let him audible.....

that's what I would hone in on and try to develop as a coach.....

more time in the pocket only makes him better unless that thing between his legs starts clouding his judgment...boys are boys....it's always a concern....from leaf to manziel.....

IMO, that's all you guys need to be concerned with....

it's amazing how much power is behind that throw of his.....he's the antithesis of tebow....and can plant it on a pedestal....

RE: I'm not angry. Have some thoughts about the game and life in general.
As far as our attendance is concerned, it's really an enigma.

1. We have a lot to compete with. UT game times, Vandy, Predators, and the Titans.

2. Nashville has so many events going on right now, people opt for those things.

3. We have laid so many eggs in the past, the culture is somewhat stagnant right now.

However, I think all of that should be B.S. but it all plays a factor to why people aren't there. I'm there regardless.

In the last 4 years...

2012 - 8 wins including wins over Memphis, Ga Tech and WKU
2013 - 8 wins including wins over Memphis and Marshall
2014 - 6 wins with WKU being our best win
2015 - 4 wins so far but we have a chance to win 7

If we win 7 this season, that's 29 wins in 4 years with a 7 win per year average. For people not to show up to see a winning team is pretty crappy. I also think we haven't promoted that well either.

1. We have a lot to compete with. UT game times, Vandy, Predators, and the Titans.
