I hate to see that for Memphis. I was hoping they would make some waves but it goes to show that even really good G5 teams will always struggle with depth to deal with the grind from week to week.

The AAC is a really really tough conference. There should be 4 teams ranked after this week.

Not so fast. Navy still faces unbeaten Houston.

Only if the playoff expands to eight teams.

This week in G5 action was a "whoops" week.

Memphis, Toledo, Marshall and Appalachian State all lost. These programs are now on life support.

Navy has become a serious contender for the autobid. Houston still projects first in its division.

The AAC will prolly have 4 teams ranked this week.

I doubt they're frettn about the pie in the sky scenario. It's likely they reach a new milestone for the portfolio once Navy gets in.

Good for them

4 teams ranked 20 and below?

Is that something to get excited about?

Top 25

I'd take that any day of the week.

Ok, I do have to make one little side comment here.

Look at ESPN's highlight video for the game. Towards the end they highlight a play where Navy threw a TD pass. They "analyze" Memphis's defense as only having 10 players on the field. The commentator makes a snide comment. ...... except there were 11 players on the field!!! The 11th guy was at the bottom of the screen, covering a WR.

ESPN you stupid jacka__ses.

There's still some scenarios where Houston makes the playoffs, but it would take an extraordinarily remote chain of upsets. Basically, the Big 10, SEC and Big 12 would have to have only 1 team with zero or one loss while Notre Dame loses again and the ACC and Pac 12 championships turn into train wrecks (not that remote). Houston will have to beat Memphis, Navy and Temple to be unbeaten.

The AAC has a ways to go before locking up that autobid.

The slim chances of other conferences are resting on a few games. In the MAC, the BG/Toledo game will eliminate a school and same in CUSA for WKU/Marshall. Boise State would have to win out (4-0) just to stay in the conversation and that is no guarantee.

I'd say its going to be at least 2 more weeks before the AAC can declare the autobid an absolute lock.

Dude you are a hack and a troll. The AAC has it locked up. They have 4 ranked teams for gods sake.

The G5 needs somebody to start ranked pretty high (10-15) and go undefeated. Right now until at team is 8-0 to get in he top 15. It would probably take a G5 team to finish with 1 loss or go undefeated and then return they're key players the following year.
