Start of the Basketball Season
I see that Hillsdale (GLIAC) visits Toledo in an ESPN3 (exhibition) game.

Miami won our exhibition against Ohio Midwestern (they don't even have an athletics website) by a score of 90-24. Was 21-16 at one point in the first half.

Eh, there's no meaning to be taken from these exhibitions, win or lose or go to overtime. Coaches are trying too many things besides just trying to win.

I believe that school has 150 students total. At least Miami found an opponent that wouldn't embarrass them to start the season...this year.

Buffalo beat Daemen 87-68 last night. All three top scorers were newcomers (Massenburg, Perkins, and Conner) and two of those figure to play big minutes this year.

They actually do have a website. I looked it up because I had never heard of the school. Every kid on the team was a freshman or sophomore, outside of one senior. All were 6-5 and shorter, and all but one was from Cincinnati (and I had never heard of any).

I equated them to a good HS Division 1 team, but that may be generous.

So does double OT mean 28 wins?

What division is Kalamazoo?

Nevermind. Looks like they are D3. Still a nice tuneup for a Tava-less WMU team.

CMU 77, Ferris State 63. Ferris had 23 wins and won their conference last season, so as exhibitions go, this was a decent test. Next Up: Jacksonville State.

Nice. Dads weekend or not, a good number.

While not nearly impressive, Akron had 3,100 for a 113-69 win against Malone (decent GLIAC team on a Thursday night). Hopefully the Zips can get a 4,000 (4,500 for MAC games) average this year.

Ferris State beat BG by 14 at Stroh last year in an actual game. So, yes a good exhibition test.
