We had ten players play over 15 minutes in the game. That is not likely to happen again. There are some players we saw a lot of last night that we won't see much of unless we are blowing people out.

Interesting that the crowd is listed as 3550. That has to be the most ever for an exhibition game since we moved to Bartow Arena.

The students really showed up.

Starters were a bit slow and a little off until late in the second half. Second unit had more energy and executed the offense better. Sullivan is for real; he didn't do a thing wrong the whole game. Brown, Norton, HaHa and Mehinti were all below their best. We seemed to run a lot of sets to get shots for Cokely. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts by the end of the season, if his D keeps improving. Dirk can flat out fill it up; if he played for a team where he was the focal point, he looks like he'd score 25 a night. Most frustrating thing is we still haven't learned to block out. Gave up a lot of cheap rebounds by just ball watching.

I think we found Robert Brown's replacement for the next 2 seasons. Irk Williams needs a season with GA Robert Williams.

Mehinti has been slow to the ball and slow to rotate every time that I've seen him this season. I don't know if it's rust or attitude or what, but he just does not seem to be moving at full speed, to be sprinting.

He has bulked up. Sometimes it takes a while to adjust to the added mass. Remember, Robert Vaden got bigger before his senior year and it affected his game.

Haase has always referred to him as a 4, and he said something about being a 4 during the presser. I'd like to see him at the 3 too, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I've been very high on his ceiling too. I would love to have four effective big men. That would allow Smallwood to have a transition year, just like Sullivan last year.

They really did. The student section was impressive, not only in size but also in energy. They really seemed to be getting into the game. I hope it keeps up through the season, it'll really help with the home court advantage.

RE: CSEB Game thread.
At our tailgate, a girl named Claire , who along with Tim Alexander, heads up Gang Green. She expressed her desire to "join forces" with or to help get started a Gang Green type group of Alumni. She said she has contacted the Alumni Society for help but received no interest. I told her that was probably not going to happen along that Avenue unless it was mandated in their job description.

We talked about the need for returning the spark among Alumni in filling up Bartow on Game Day again to greater attendance levels. I also encouraged her to come back & speak with others during the Tailgating on tge 22nd

That's great there's such momentum building with the students, tailgating, etc. We really need to capitalize on that and have a good season, or all the momentum will be very fleeting..

Great work Joey. I'll be sure to get their earlier and bring others next game.
