rooting interest in LSU/Alabama?
What's the consensus on whom to pull for in the LSU/Alabama game?

Why LSU
- An Alabama loss would knock them further down the rankings

Why Alabama
- The better Alabama is, the better Ole Miss's win over them looks, and the better our win over Ole Miss looks
- Ole Miss would have a little more breathing room to win the SEC West.
- One fewer undefeated team.

(hmmmm, maybe I answered my own question)

I want Alabama to lose. LSU can wait and lose to Ole Miss.

Yes, I want all the undefeated teams to lose one or two the rest of this season (with the exception of any that we're playing... I only want them to lose to us.)

the more Bama wins the better our win against Ole Miss holds up.

That's what I'm thinking as well.
But it's all moot if we don't beat navy

Alabama is ranked #4 with a loss. If they lose to LSU, its not going to hurt the perception of Ole Miss' win. Besides, Ole Miss has to play LSU themselves.

I think it would be better to get Alabama out of the way, and start moving up in the polls.

RE: rooting interest in LSU/Alabama?
It is ok for a couple of teams to dominate and finish undefeated. Rooting for all undefeated teams to lose at least one actually HURTS Memphis…

the reason why is that it gives each of those teams likely high quality wins on top of the loss. For example, we want Stanford and Notre Dame to lose another game, but they play each other in the final week of the season, dropping one but lifting the other past us. We need whoever wins that game to lose an additional game (Hopefully ND to Pitt this weekend). Same with Florida and Florida State. Florida has a pretty easy schedule from here on out, so if they beat FSU and go to the SEC title game, we need it to be Ole Miss and a loss in that game.

Im not 100% sure about LSU/Bama, but in the case of Clemson or Ohio State, Id rather see those teams go on and win out, and not give a team like Michigan State, or Iowa in the championship game a big win

I just noticed that the #12 team in the playoff rankings, Utah, is actually 1.5 point underdogs tmrw at Washington.

Also, Colorado is capable of beating #11 Stanford at home, and Indiana could give #9 Iowa problems.

We easily jump to at least the #10 spot if those 3 can go down and we can take care of business.

Yep, we'll just hear more rhetoric about how their loss to OM was a fluke. It has already started.

The main knock on Iowa in my opinion is that somehow they managed to avoid Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan on their schedule.

Looking at their schedule so far, it actually looks better than ours. They have really high quality wins on the road @Wisconsin and @Northwestern, in addition to Pitt at home and Illinois State, who is 7-1 overall.

Thats 4 teams they have played with a record of 6-2 or better

started? it has been confirmed. it started the moment the game was over. bama is ranked number 4 and lost to them at home. nothing screams fluke louder than that.... opinion wise.

Geaux Tigers!

Bama needs to lose another game and this is the best chance for them to lose. LSU still has Ole Miss and Miss. State left to play so at least there is a chance for them to take a loss or two the rest of the way.

The fact that Iowa draws a year where they don't play OSU, Michigan, Michigan State is why big conferences are not such a great idea.

But I hope we join one soon.
