RE: Creighton and EMU looking at a MUST Win against Miami
The only thing a win over Miami would do is clinch the status of not being the worst team in Div I FBS football.

The fact that we are not even discussing the possibility of Eastern beating a decent CMU team is an indictment on the sorry state of the football program.

At some point this coaching staff needs a meaningful, signature win. Will it come in year 3? Or are we just going to be content beating the occasional crappy team?

If we lose, we may end up with another diversity hire like Lyke, English, Gragg, Ramsey, etc.

Glass always half empty, right Bob?

Actually he was looking in the mirror.

Disagree with English--rock solid football resume and Ramsey--strong EMU ties but how about Murphy? who ironically, has the least diverse roster year after year.

This could be your dumbest post yet, and that's saying something, considering your impressive resume. Ramsey's "strong EMU ties" really did well for him here, huh? Same with English's qualifications. We'll just forget those three 2-win seasons and the big 0-fer in 2009 ever happened.

Murphy hasn't exactly lit the MAC world on fire, but Ramsey couldn't hold his jock. There is no possible way to defend Ramsey...he set the program back quite a bit.

Sam, the discussion is not the "performance" but rather the "qualifications" of the coach hired. If you recall, Murphy was pushed to the front of the line when he decided, "eh, I've got nothing planned for the day, may as well interview for the EMU job." He was a last second candidate and he apparently "wowed" EMU's incompetent AD at the time Derrick Gragg. I don't believe his heart was in it 100% then and I do no believe it is in it 100% now. He was a bad hire and has turned the EMU basketball fan base into a wasteland. Only diehards would want to sit thru one of his patented 46-43 glorified root canal/basketball games.

If EMU would have done the proper due diligence into English' 'qualifications' he would have never been hired. This guy was a dictator with anger issues, totally devoid of the mental makeup to be a head coach. His final outburst which led to his firing was inevitable, and brewing just under the surface from the day he arrived on campus. Luckily for football players everywhere, he is still unemployed.

And yes, this comes directly from existing players on the roster who had to put up with his abuse.

For anyone to defend this guy is laughable. Not surprising at all that Bob is his biggest defender.

Can we get this guy removed. I find his pedophile posts, of which there are now at least 3, highly offensive and inappropriate on a sports forum. This guy is beyond creepy.

Actually agree with Bob on this one. Does anyone monitor this board?

Good sign. As much as this season has been a difficult one, I think we get win #2 this week. Would really like to see a well executed, Roback/Bell 2 QB system implemented this week.

It's sad to me that we're 5 point underdogs at all.

Thankfully Fleck will be leaving the conference soon, and WMU will deflate back to normal.
