someone from WMU or CMU bloviates about EMU just tell them to look at how USNews ranks the three schools on overall academics - EMU is 95th in the country, WMU is 187th, and CMU is 194th.

RE: Next time...
Wrong. EMU ranks 85th as a Regional University in the Midwest. WMU and CMU are considered National Universities and thus ranked against the entire country.

Our faculty, however, ranked higher than both a couple years ago in a national study. I'll see if I can find the data.

Dear Friends,
You will never win this kind of argument, no matter what study, what news source, etc. People will always find something that they say will prove their school is better.
I know that I received a great education at Eastern, with dedicated professors that made me think. So, even though we all like to put our school in a better light than others, it is simply a battle not worth fighting. Especially with some of the Western and Central posters who think they are God's gift to the rest of us.

What Ken said. The "who's school is better" cockfight is so annoying. No one outside of the Midwest (maybe even outside the state of Michigan) could differentiate which of the directional schools is the best, nor do they care. Be proud of your diploma and just end it there.

I agree. Just thought I'd correct the obviously flawed premise in the OP.

Again for those who don't think the athletics overall hasn't improved the facts suggest otherwise.

Living in Texas, I can confirm: No one cares about the Michigan MAC schools (or Michigan & Michigan State for that matter).

Why would they? Anybody in Michigan care about North Texas, SMU, Abilene Christian, etc, etc. (or Texas or TCU)?
