"put it away early in the 4th" and they will only win 34-27? I may be wrong but I don't think that is exactly putting it away.
According to App fans that score is indicative of a decisive beat down with no chance of losing the game.

Some App fans...
Plenty of App fans (including myself) have given Ark St a ton of credit. I'm concerned about our oline giving Lamb time in the pocket and Ark St.'s ability to pass the ball if/when their offense gets into a rhythm. I'd love to see a 38-17 game for App of course, but my head says a 30ish to 30ish shootout in which the last team to make a big play wins.

wow. what a vague, inaccurate write up, called Ark St defense one of the best in the conference, yet they are giving up 33.5 points per game against conference teams, and failed to mention Knight, who might be the most important guy on the field tonight, he has a big game both running and passing Ark St has a great chance to win in a shootout, App contains him, or atleast slows him down, App probably wins going away.

If you look at stats, our defense is one of the best in the conference.
We're in the top 20 in the country in turnovers forced and defensive touchdowns, and #1 in the country in interceptions. I'd argue we're the 3rd best defense in the league behind you guys and Troy.

Honestly, you need to be worried about the 31 unanswered points you gave up last year. The final score does not show how the majority of the game was played and you're failure to realize that is concerning.

I admit we did not play well last year, but we did still win the first half. We played bad and still had a chance to win in the end (seems to be a trend with our staff). The biggest reason we were playing bad was probably you guys sticking the run game to us and making a better halftime adjustment but everybody ran on us last year. I think our D is much improved. We shut down Mcguire on the ground and I expect to shut Cox down on the ground too. We got out-adjusted in that game at half too so if you dump the ball off to him on swing routes he could have over 100+ yds receiving.

If Cox isn't effective you'll get Upshaw. In fairness to McGuire, their quarterback wasn't hardly a threat to throw the football in that game.

I would be damn happy with a 5-7 point win; I'd gladly accept a one-point win. I doubt anything will be too easy for either team tonight.

This is only the 2nd time in Sun Belt History that two teams with 4-0 or better league records met in a season.

yep, that surprises me about the undefeated stat. I believe it goes to show how competitive the league has been thru the years.

Funny thing is, the league was terrible in 2002. That matchup was more about how bad the bottom of the league was than how good the top of the league was.
That was back in the old days of the Sun Belt...you know, back when North Texas football was actually good.

You do realize that we had an all conference linebacker out during that unanswered points span, and that we have a much improved group of interior defensive linemen, don't you?
This year's A-State defense looks nothing like the one that Cox gashed(and everyone else in the 2nd half of the year) in Jonesboro last year.

Regardless, it should be a good, hard fought game. I doubt the crowd will be as large as we are used to but the people who are there will make it fun.
