The offense we had in 2004 with Jacobs at QB and Magner, Hawkins, Sharon and Sanders at WR and PJ Pope at TB with a great OL in front of them was a great unit...as good an offense as I've seen in the MAC.

I think this group is better....

El Grande, what happened in the Memphis game (so pivotal in retrospect)? I was following via gamecast and BG went up by like 10, early 2nd half, Memphis took the lead, thought it would go back and forth and then I saw the final score, it seemed BG went awhile without scoring. Just curious how that played out.

RE: Wednesday MACtion- Ohio v BGSU
One 'takeaway' from the 2015 season is the offensive weapons in the MAC.

MACtion is a collection of very good, some marque, offensive players having fun out there. (Being 3rd team all-MAC WR will be a big accomplishment this year).

And tonight WMU has a collection of very good offensive players too.

And don't forget even last Thursday, EMU showcased Darius Jackson, a very fine RB.

I'm glad these players are getting some good air time this week (as well as last week) and the weeks ahead.

Sure the weather next week and the weeks after will probably turn midwestern, but hey MACtion is MACtion. :)

I know he was doing it to prevent Vick from getting up and that qualifies as a personal foul in itself. Vick was guilty of nothing more than trying to get free as the BG player could very well give him a year ending injury as he laid there defenseless.

This is the type of bad officiating that I cannot tolerate as it usually results in a player getting hurt due to them allow thug football.

Dude...he tried to kick him. That will always get called. Colvin's move, while dickish, was harmless.

BG is now flying way under the radar for an Access Bowl berth. If the Falcons win out, they will be 11-2. Naturally, they will have to rank higher than the AAC teams. But what if Memphis wins the rest of their regular season games (diluting the records of their AAC brethren Temple, Navy & Houston), then lose in their league championship game? I believe only the champions of the G5 are eligible for the automatic access bid.

Of course Toledo could also make a case under such circumstances should they finish 12-1. But I'm not sure if they can rebound from another devastating loss to NIU.

Good point. With conference championship games in BOTH conferences it is unlikely that any school will go undefeated this season.

We could have an issue with two 1-loss teams both wanting to go to that bowl.

But Memphis would still be the MAC Champion having beaten BG in BG, just not the AAC Champion. Perhaps Memphis could play themselves in a playoff with the winner going to the Access thingy.

He was trying to free his legs. It just so happens that the guy let go at the same time. The defender was wrong. It is dirty football and he should have been ejected.

BGSU is a very good team and they do not need to play like this. In fact, outside of that play, I think that they are a clean playing team and that defender did a disservice to the team. You are going to win and win big anyways, why taint it?

You're being ridiculous. And no, it was not the same action. Colvin had his arms under the guys legs...lifted them a little and let them go...then the OU player kicked at him. Colvin didn't even have a grip on the guy...he was only lifting...and only a little. The second action always gets noticed. The second action clearly warranted a penalty...the first...not a chance. And certainly nothing at all close to being ejection worthy.

Vick did get a kick at the end out of it, BUT they were being held for a while where he was trying to kick. Natural "wtf" reaction when trying to kick out of it, THEN he finally lets go wayy belatedly. I would have called double-off-setting fouls.

Same thing happened in the Kent game...only the Kent player did something worse. He twisted Johnson's leg as he rolled on the ground after Johnson got tackled. Johnson kicked him and got called for the unsportsmanlike.
