Best Case Scenario:

LSU beats Alabama
Ole Miss beats LSU, and wins out including the SECCG
Memphis wins out with wins over Houston, Navy, and Temple x2

That's the only way Memphis gets in.

If Memphis make the New Year's Six, it will be the biggest stage the AAC has ever been on. Easily beating the Fiesta. Winning that would be even better. Getting into the playoff leaves the AAC universe as we know it...win or lose.

If Alabama wins out they will deserve it over us. They already have the #3 SOS and they haven't even played LSU yet. Look at who they will have played and beaten.

Want Ohio State vs Florida in the Urban Meyer Bowl for the championship with Ohio State winning out.

Notre Dame would be funny because Everett Golson left to go to FSU to play for a national title.... So lol...

UCF sucks this year, I guess I'm rooting for the weirdest story lines possible.

Big12 being left out helps expansion.

But the SEC cares greatly about having its champ left out of the CFP, which is what would likely happen if Memphis and Ole Miss win out, thus a nightmare for the CFP to deal with, and a nightmare for SEC fans.

SEC talk radio types bloviate about this every day.

I think the Fiesta was just as good if not better than the Access bowl.

An Ole Miss "SEC Champ" with head to head wins against #2 LSU and #4 Alabama.

Hey, not me making the argument. It's the SEC guys worried about it. And ESPN talking heads. One just said that Memphis would beat out a 2-loss Ole Miss for a playoff spot, on the halftime show on ESPN2.

That an undefeated Memphis would beat out a 2-loss Ole Miss, with the advantage in the head-to-head.

Go debate them. But I do see how it could happen. We would also likely have wins against a ranked Houston and a ranked Temple. And a top 30 Navy. And perhaps a MAC champ in Bowling Green. And a second win vs. Temple. And UC.

However, a one-loss Bama would likely beat out both of us, even though they didn't win their division.

Looking at all the Champs since 1991 and you'll notice they are all from a very shallow pool of teams.

Nothing will change that so you can bet the house that the 2015 champ will be from this group:

Ohio State
LSU
Alabama
Florida State
Oklahoma

In other words Clemson, the Texas privates, Michigan state, nor Utah or Stanford nor Our Lady is winning it.

(11-04-2015 03:10 PM)TripleA Wrote:  All 3 wouldn't get in. College Football Live just discussed that exact scenario. They think Memphis would have it over Ole Miss, due to the head to head win, but Bama would get in over both, even without the SEC championship.

Bama is not getting in over Ole Miss if the Rebels are the SEC Champs with a road win over Bama. And the committee have stated that will place a great amount of value on a conference champion. They talked about this on WJOX in Birmingham yesterday and if anyone is familiar with this radio station you know they are pro-Bama. The Roundtable crew even stated in that scenario that Bama would not get in over Ole Miss. They said either both Ole Miss and Bama get in (highly unlikely), they both get left out (more likely), or only Ole Miss gets in. They couldn't see Memphis being left out in this scenario.
