Tough way to lose
I'd say good game, but I don't think either of us played like we could or should have. Officiating very questionable all over. I didn't see the replay on the field goal call to see what happened there. There was definitely a missed PI call on the Kenny G catch. Both were critical calls or non-calls for you. I believe there is always a call on the field that could be made. Saw some holding calls or blocks in the back on a few of your runs that could have been called? I understand if you're calling a loose game and letting it be decided on the field, but then why the field goal call?
Very tough loss.
Difficult win for us and not sure where it leaves us for the season. Drew Hare (blown achilles), Anthony Maddie (back surgery) and Daniel Santacaterina (arm surgery) out for the season leaves us with red shirt freshman Graham a true freshman and possibly our FG kicker Hagen as backups to finish out the year for QB. Sort of feels like you last year.
You never know how this is going to turn out. We could lose out or win out. Domino's could still fall with you heading to Detroit with one loss. Beat CMU! Good luck in your game vs BGSU. You guys have a tough road to finish.
Finish Strong!

I can help you with what happened on the field goal. Our safety, Dajuan Rogers was going to rush the play and attempt to block the field goal. He rushed the line from behind a couple of UT players and ran into the back of one of the lineman who was also rushing for the block attempt. As he ran into him from all the congestion on the line, he basically got stopped after barely crossing he line of scrimmage. he then stood there and watched the kick. The ref ruled that he tried to push the lineman to help him get through the line quicker and with more force in order to block the field goal. Hence, the "leveraging" call. the ref was keying on him because he was lined up behind the line of scrimmage and literally threw the flag as soon as he started forward to rush the line - obviously in the hopes a hole would open up he could get through. He pushed no one, he leveraged nothing.
To make that call, the ref had pre-meditated the call and was looking for something that was not there. It was a heinous call and the guy needs to be reprimanded for making a call like that on such a crucial play. He was just plain wrong about what he called. the fact that the flag was in the air before the kick even left the foot is enough of an indication that he planned on making that call before the ball was even snapped. he wanted to show everyone how smart he was on the rules.
I have never believed that refs do not have their own biases and look for calls to make against certain teams and certainly for specific players. It happens all the time. It's much worse in MLB. Ever watch that fata$$ Joe West umpire a game? He always wants to make it about himself. It's too bad Madison Baumgartner didn't go over and punch his face in 6-8 weeks ago instead of endure a stare down with the a$$hole. He has also done it with managers and almost had Joe Girardi cold **** him last year. Football refs are no different. It was on television, and he just wanted to inject himself into the spotlight.
That is also when Campbell should have been going ballistic when he was told what the call was for.

Agree with your assessment regarding the refs and the fact that neither team played particularly well. In the end, as usual of late, karma favored the Huskies and they played just well enough to earn the win fair and square.
I never like to see injuries and I hope for a full recovery for all (I would say "speedy recovery" but recovery from torn achilles is never speedy).
