I've never lived in Third Ward, I've lived in Galveston County almost all my life. And yes, Houston is boring, if for no other reason than that everything that might attract people is so spread out.

And now that AstroWorld was shut down because of gang members and urban people scaring suburbanites away--I--I mean, because it was on such prime real estate that it sits empty to this day, there's not much for kids to do without having to go to a suburb/satellite (Kemah, Spring, Galveston). There's not much to do in Houston that doesn't get highly repetitive really quickly. Still love it here though.

You can still gamble and eat unique cuisine in New Orleans. That may not sway you but there's more to New Orleans than Bourbon Street.
