Too bad for Toledo
They would have had three straight games before a captive national audience on Tuesdays, including a showdown with Bowling Green in two weeks.

Even if they wouldn't have gotten the access bowl, it would have done wonders for publicity and recruiting.

It could be said they mostly still have all of that.

Odds of the autobid are quite small at this point.

That was the case before Toledo's loss.

App State, Marshall and Toledo only have 1 loss.

What if the AAC champ has 3 losses?

Wasn't really buying Toledo much for the access spot to begin with when they were having to fend off UMass.

Bowling Green winning the MAC or getting to 10 wins would help Memphis tremendously.

I think that is 90% true. Still a bit of games that need to be played, but that other 10% have BSU lurking on the outside chance still.

That was the case before Toledo's loss.

But now they won't be ranked and undefeated while doing so.

Wouldn't that be something?

Memphis, undefeated, AAC Champion, beats the SEC Champion Ole Miss and beats the 10-2 MAC Champion Bowling Green in non-conference play.

And people said it would impossible for a G5 to ever make the CFP.
