Bye Bye Toledo
That loss to NIU likely drops them out of the top 25.

They should of never been rank to begin with. Hell, Navy plays much better football than them, they should have been rank over Toledo long ago, instead.

Honest question here. Do you actually watch much college football? In back-to-back weeks this season, Toledo beat teams from P5 conferences, winning at Arkansas and against Iowa State. If they were an AAC team, we'd be puffing our chests out as a result of those wins. The team that beat them, NIU, took Ohio State to the wire earlier in the year. It's odd how much people on this board go out of their way to belittle other G5 conferences - it smacks of insecurity.

Well after 8 wins it would be hard to keep them unranked especially with two P5 wins. I think Navy is better but I do think Toledo should have been ranked.

Welp---the AAC is officially in the drivers seat for the access bowl. With 3 ranked teams, gunna be tough for anyone from another G5 to pass whoever emerges as the AAC champ. The SOS of the next 4 weeks should get the AAC champ over the hump even if they end up with a loss along the way.

No, I only watch Texas #1 sport, hockey.

Listen, I don't know if you watch the same game this evening from Toledo as I did but that was not big time football performance if you ask me.

Heck, Tulsa could beat them, IMHO.

I get it that Toledo was 8-0 but in all honesty, they didn't look impressive. Not trying to be a prick here, their level of performance just didn't do it for me, transitt.

Has Ohio St looked impressive enough to be #1? They got in early because Arkansas was supposed to be really good this season. Hard to drop a ranked team out if they keep winning.

C'mon, we already know why Ohio St. is rank so high, name brand. Apple oranges not fair to Toledo, transitt.

But you right, no one team going undefeated should be kept away from being mention along side others who share similar records.

I think Toledo deserved to be there,,, Bowling Green would have stomped em, they are a good team, you don't want to see them in your bowl game.

Bowling Green will still stomp them. The Bowling Green win will look very good for Memphis if they continue like they have been. They may well end up a 10-11 win team and might find a few top 25 votes here and there.

Any ranked g5 team losing to an unranked team would drop them out faster than a speeding bullet.

Agree 100%. I had never seen them before, and expected to see them do something special. either shut down defense, or lightning offense. But they looked very ordinary. I get it that NIU is good, and took Ohio State to the wire. But damn, your at home on national TV, against a team you havent beat in 5 years. And you spit the bit in the 4th quarter ?? And what was with all those empty seats ?? That fanbase should have been off the wall for ESPN national TV, proving to the country that they belong.

Toledo came off real weak.

I think it pretty much seals it for the AAC champ.

Gonna be Memphis, Temple or Houston in that access bowl. The media seems to like Memphis for some reason at the moment - I like it, but the champ will get it; no question in my mind.

No, it smacks from people from other G5 conferences repeatedly coming on to this board and trying to tell us (your Toledo brethren were guilty) that our conference was no better than any other "G5" conference and needed to know our place. That said, I think Bowling Green is going to mess someone up badly in their bowl game.

Exactly, people need to understand that we are not just another G5 conference. We are not even in the same universe as those leagues. We have earned national respect while most of the country has never even heard of Toledo or Western Kentucky.

We have the higher ranking, that's it. Soon as we lose, they will be off the bandwagon and on to the next team. (Temple or Houston)

I thought all along that Toledo was not going to win the MAC. They were winning, but they didn't have that "it" factor, IMO. For that reason, I also didn't think they should have been ranked. Nice team, just not Top 25 worthy.
