In summary Golden State made hard shots while the Grizzlies missed easy shots.

It started in the 2nd quarter when Green came in. The whole offense became watching him dribble and take bad shot after bad shot. Once we got down big it was pretty much over.

Actually it started when coach subbed out Jam Green for Carter who promptly takes an ill advised shot. That was a strange lineup and things started going downhill from there. Jeff Green at least attacked the rim while no one else seemed to be doing so.

When Jeff Green is your go to guy on offense then you have problems. Jeff Green is not a great scorer. The guy is streaky at best.

Grizz wet the bed this summer by not trading him. There were teams who were definitely interested and they could've gotten someone who fits this team better.

Last night was just a disaster period.

I don't know that you can trade a player on a player option year without their approval. At least that how it used to be.

Doesn't work on player option years.

Jeff Green could not be traded, so there is no way other teams were interested in a trade.

Please enlighten why Green couldn't be traded? All I heard was that the Grizz didn't like any of the offers they received.

Green won't be part of this team at the end of the season. If he is then the grizzlies have major issues. It's not all his fault but the Grizz got absolutely screwed in that deal

Jeff green was tradable once he accepted his one year option.

That's what I thought. Either the grizzlies didn't even entertain the idea of trading ( which would be stupid and a typical Grizz decision) out they didn't get an offer they liked. For example a team asked for too much

oops my bad...i thought we couldn't trade him cuz of the player option.

so, do you know if other teams showed interest for sure? or is it just an assumption?

The guy is making barely a million in a final year of a contract of course teams were interested. It's either Grizz had no interest or wanted to get back as much as they gave up for him.

RE: Griz @ GS. 11-2-15
We have lot's of 'expiring contracts' this season, including Jeff Green's. Depending on where we sit next Winter in the standings near the trading deadline, it will be our chance to retool somewhat since all teams are seemingly looking for 'expiring contracts'. Even though I've fought the sentiment a couple of years that we are lacking and need to retool, I now agree with it. Not talking about a teardown but rather a tuneup on the fly. Like Tiger1016 said, build around Gasol and Conley.
Finally, when I read this article a few weeks back, I didn't think much of it. Now it seems pretty accurate.

Jeff Green must have the best accountant every to earn $9.2 million in 2015-16 and make it only a million!

Then the ESPN trade machine had a glitch in it earlier. Either way guys on expiring contacts are attractive to teams looking to get rid of guys

Good article...I wouldn't mind a "stealth rebuild mode" :)
