You look good on paper, but all you are is a paper Cougar. Look on the bright side, after you pick up your first loss of the season you won't be losing your coach in December.

Memphis, Houston, Temple, Cincy, and Navy have proven to have pretty damn good to great teams, yet there will only be one winner. That doesn't mean that the 4 teams that don't win the conference suddenly aren't any good.
Very true. UC's two conference losses are:
1. to Temple by one possession when UC doubled them up in yards, but turned it over 5 times and allowed Temple to recover an onside kick. Credit to Temple's defense who made some great plays taking advantage of some sloppy decisions by UC and also to Temple's staff who noticed on tape during the game that UC's middle guy on kickoffs was running backwards before the ball was kicked. That's a game that could have easily gone the other way.
2. to Memphis in a back and forth game where UC forces a turnover late and the refs make a bogus call (or possibly the right call if you were lucky enough to see the Super Secret Camera angle that somehow only Memphis fans were privy to) giving the ball back to Memphis. That call goes the other way and it's very very likely that UC pulls that out.
Point is...not a lot of separation and though disappointingly my team came out on the losing side of those games, i think they've shown to be a pretty talented football team.
I like Cincinnati... No matter who their opponent is they will bring it almost always.
It's why I believe this is going to be another solid football game and ESPN is $$$ loving it.

Those implying that we're just a product of our weak schedule, I want to see screenshots of them putting their money where their mouth is. Cincy is paying 2.75 to 1 if you pick them to win. If it's such a foregone conclusion that we suck, everyone in this thread backing Cincy should be stumbling over themselves to throw as much money on Cincy as possible.

Dude relax. Nobody has said Houston sucks... People are defending Cincy in this thread because the original poster (a Cougar fan) made it seem like UC fans were idiots for believing the Bearcats even have a chance against the all mighty JackoffBoyz (in the UC board no less!).
7-0 regardless of schedule or conference affiliation is very impressive.

Yeah the refs were definitely home cooking for Memphis that game. That should of been a fumble recovered by Cincy. Along with that bad call and all the dirty hit from the Memphis defense the officiating crew should be suspended.

Yeah it was clear that the refs cheated to give Memphis the game. Please.
It was also clearly a dirty hit....except to the referees, the conference, ESPN, the refs that ESPN asked about it....or pretty much anyone involved with AAC football.
After that game all of the Cincy/Houston/Tulsa fans were talking about how overrated Memphis was and that we were going to lose 5 games. How'd that work out? Oh yeah, it worked out with Memphis winning more good games than anyone else in the conference to this point and being ranked above everyone else.

When did anyone say that? I smell a big steaming pile of bull****.
The reversal of the fumble was an egregiously bad call and Memphis took advantage. It was a back and forth game between two evenly matched teams. No UC fan left that game thinking "Wow Memphis sucks." That's an invention in the heads of Memphis fans who are the only people who watched the game that thought the reversal was the right call.

It was discussed in the post game threads which I'm not looking up because I don't have all day to do it.....it included some Tulsa fans who said they couldn't wait to get a crack at Memphis.
By the way, Cincy lost the game because Moore threw an interception; not due to a fumble call.

I agree, and more than any other I have said Houston has a real shot at 12-0.
RE: Cincy fans still have that ol' Big East arrogance and delusion
You'd think having your team be undefeated would be good enough validation for some...but no, we have to start threads like this and have silly arguments about who said what about somebody else's team. Who gives a ****? It's pointless.
Good luck to everyone this week...I'll be back after the weekend to take in the reaction.

Absolutely true. Relax Kronke, I was just poking the Cougar.
Houston is a very good team and Herman's done a great job, especially for his first year as HC. I wouldn't call it arrogance or delusional to say UC will win. This will be the best offense Houston will see (maybe 2nd to Memphis) and if they're not ready, they'll lose.
The AAC in just 3 years, has made great strides in football and has received much-earned respect and recognition from major sports outlets. Let's just hope the playoff committee has been paying attention.
