If we commit to stopping the run I believe we can stop them...

We should be able to score if Paxton and the receivers return to the way they played before the Tulane game.

We absolutely CANNOT come out flat against Navy. We get behind and chances are we won't be able to make it up

I'm surprised by this line. I would've guessed between -4.5 and -6.5

Actually IMO even if we get off to a slow start against Navy, we can come back on them. I think our fans will be pleasantly surprised as to how well we defend the run.

We have no choice but to commit to stopping the run. That's all they do. In that offense you have to assign a player or two to the QB. You have to key on him every single play. No matter how many times he hands it off to others, and that aint much, someone has to commit to him always.

it may be hard getting off to a fast start if they are successful grounding out yards via their time consuming triple option

We let Tulane keep the ball the first 11 minutes in the first quarter. We gave them two first downs because of penalties. We better play smarter than that. Despite those penalties the defense is improving.

We'll be ready to go against Navy. It's different playing a one-loss team vs playing the quality of competition as Tulane.

RE: Navy line
Navy is good, will move the ball, will have some nice runs, and will score.

But.

They will struggle mightily to slow our kids. We will likely solve the option on a number of drives, and of THEY fall behind it will be very difficult for them to come back.

It is also impossible to work up any animosity for Navy. Just want to win the game.

Memphis 41, Navy 31.

We get behind on any of the next three and it can be bad news. Navy can control the ToP with their running game and limit how many touches Lynch will get. Hard to score without the ball.

I'm primarily talking about the next game. We can't fall behind to Houston.

I personally am not worried about Navy. They are the type of team that will let a high powered offense hang around. In fact IMO we'll handle them easily.
